Abstract

This report presents two architectural design projects with contrasting functions, scales, and financial constraints: The Design of the SMA Sekolah Rakyat Girls' Dormitory in Jombang and The Design of Amlu Villa in Bali. The first project focuses on the girls' dormitory for SMA Sekolah Rakyat Jombang. The design approach is oriented toward low-budget efficiency without compromising the quality of the living environment. The primary emphasis lies in spatial design to support various student activities and the optimization of natural air circulation to deliver healthy and energy-efficient thermal comfort. The second project, Amlu Villa, is a luxury villa design in Bali, situated on a 3,000 m² site with a building area of approximately 900 m². This project explores spatial integration through flowing circulation and open space concepts that seamlessly blend with the surrounding environment. The core highlight of this design is the comprehensive implementation of Feng Shui principles, which are contextualized within the physical form, building massing, and interior layout. Overall, these two projects demonstrate the adaptability of architectural design in responding to distinct spatial needs ranging from a cost-effective communal residence focused on microclimate comfort to a high-end private dwelling that harmonizes aesthetics, spatial flow, and Feng Shui energy configurations.
