Abstract

Laporan ini membahas proses perancangan Gedung Serbaguna Sekolah Rakyat Surabaya dan Villa Taman Dayu Pandaan, Pasuruan sebagai bentuk penerapan kompetensi dasar arsitek dalam praktik perancangan. Kedua proyek dikembangkan melalui proses analisis dan sintesis berdasarkan 13 kompetensi dasar arsitek yang mencakup aspek perancangan, struktur, utilitas, regulasi, keberlanjutan, sosial budaya, ekonomi, serta estetika bangunan. Perancangan Gedung Serbaguna diarahkan pada penciptaan ruang publik yang fungsional, fleksibel, dan responsif terhadap kebutuhan pendidikan serta masyarakat sekitar, sedangkan perancangan Villa Taman Dayu menitikberatkan pada kualitas ruang hunian, kenyamanan iklim tropis, dan ekspresi arsitektur yang sesuai dengan karakter kawasan eksklusif. Penulis juga merefleksikan nilai-nilai profesi, etika, dan tanggung jawab sosial sebagai pertimbangan dalam setiap keputusan perancangan, baik dalam proses kolaboratif maupun individual. Laporan ini menunjukkan bahwa praktik arsitektur tidak hanya berorientasi pada hasil desain, tetapi juga pada kemampuan memahami konteks, kebutuhan pengguna, regulasi, serta keberlanjutan lingkungan. Dengan demikian, laporan ini menjadi sarana pembelajaran reflektif terhadap praktik arsitektur yang kompleks, multidisipliner, dan mengakar pada konteks tempat dan masyarakat.

This report discusses the design process of the Surabaya People’s School Multipurpose Hall and the Taman Dayu Villa in Pandaan, Pasuruan as an application of architects’ fundamental competencies in professional design practice. Both projects were developed through a process of analysis and synthesis based on the 13 core architectural competencies, covering aspects of architectural design, structure, building utilities, regulations, sustainability, socio-cultural considerations, economics, and aesthetics. The design of the Multipurpose Hall focuses on creating a functional, flexible, and context-responsive public space that supports educational activities and the surrounding community, while the Taman Dayu Villa emphasizes residential spatial quality, tropical comfort, and an architectural expression that reflects the character of its exclusive environment. The author also reflects on professional values, ethics, and social responsibility as important considerations in every design decision, both in collaborative and individual processes. This report demonstrates that architectural practice is not solely oriented toward the final design outcome, but also toward the ability to understand context, user needs, regulations, and environmental sustainability. Therefore, this report serves as a reflective framework for understanding architectural practice as a complex, multidisciplinary, collaborative, and contextually grounded process.
