Abstract
Pada penelitian ini berhasil disintesis dan dikarakterisasi kompleks Ni-HLmet dan Ni-HLhid, serta dievaluasi aktivitas antibakterinya terhadap Staphylococcus aureus dan Escherichia coli. Kompleks Ni-HLmet disintesis dengan metode solvotermal dengan perbandingan mol ligan dan logam 1:2, sedangkan kompleks Ni-HLhid disintesis dengan metode refluks dengan perbandingan mol 1:1. Hasil sintesis kompleks Ni-HLmet berupa padatan kristal hijau dengan rendemen 98,1% dan kompleks Ni-HLhid berupa serbuk coklat dengan rendemen 80,28%. Karakterisasi UV-Vis menunjukkan adanya pergeseran pita serapan serta kemunculan pita LMCT dan transisi d-d yang mengindikasikan terbentuknya kompleks Ni(II) yang diperkirakan memiliki geometri segi empat planar. Hasil karakterisasi FTIR menunjukkan adanya ikatan Ni–O, Ni–N, dan Ni–S pada Ni-HLmet, sedangkan pada kompleks Ni-HLhid terdapat ikatan Ni–O dan Ni–N. Karakterisasi XRD menunjukkan bahwa kedua kompleks bersifat polikristalin dan tergolong nanokristalin. Hasil CHNSO dan AAS mendukung rumus molekul yang diusulkan, yaitu C31H29Cl12N7Ni8O7S2 dan C28H20Cl3N8NaNi3O6S2. Hasil uji antibakteri menunjukkan bahwa kedua kompleks memiliki aktivitas lebih baik dibandingkan ligan bebasnya. Kompleks Ni-HLmet menunjukkan nilai zona inhibisi sebesar 6,03 ± 0,97 mm terhadap S. aureus dan 4,15 ± 0,28 mm terhadap E. Coli, sedangkan kompleks Ni-HLhid menunjukkan nilai zona inhibisi sebesar 3,12 ± 0,69 mm terhadap S. aureus dan 2,07 ± 0,50 mm terhadap E. coli.

In this study, Ni-HLmet and Ni-HLhid complexes were successfully synthesized and characterized, and their antibacterial activity against Staphylococcus aureus and Escherichia coli was evaluated. The Ni-HLmet complex was synthesized via the solvothermal method with a ligand-to-metal molar ratio of 1:2, while the Ni-HLhid complex was synthesized via the reflux method with a molar ratio of 1:1. The Ni-HLmet complex was synthesized as a green crystalline solid with a yield of 98,11%, and the Ni-HLhid complex was synthesized as a brown powder with a yield of 80,28%. UV-Vis characterization revealed a shift in the absorption bands as well as the appearance of LMCT bands and d-d transitions, indicating the formation of a Ni(II) complex that is presumed to have a square planar geometry. FTIR characterization results showed the presence of Ni–O, Ni–N, and Ni–S bonds in Ni-HLmet, whereas Ni–O and Ni–N bonds were present in the Ni-HLhid complex. XRD characterization showed that both complexes were polycrystalline and classified as nanocrystalline. The CHNSO and AAS results supported the proposed molecular formulas, namely C31H29Cl12N7Ni8O7S2 and C28H20Cl3N8NaNi3O6S2. The antibacterial test results show that both complexes exhibit better activity than their free ligands. The Ni-HLmet complex exhibited an inhibition zone of 6.03 ± 0.97 mm against S. aureus and 4.15 ± 0.28 mm against E. coli, while the Ni-HLhid complex exhibited an inhibition zone of 3.12 ± 0.69 mm against S. aureus and 2.07 ± 0.50 mm against E. coli.
