Abstract

Proyek Asrama SD Putra Sekolah Rakyat Jombang dan AMLU Villa Tabanan Bali merepresentasikan dua pendekatan arsitektur yang berbeda sesuai dengan fungsi dan karakter pengguna, namun memiliki kesamaan dalam penerapan prinsip arsitektur kontekstual, keberlanjutan, serta pemenuhan kebutuhan pengguna. Penerapan 13 standar kompetensi Ikatan Arsitek Indonesia (IAI) menjadi landasan utama dalam proses perancangan guna menghasilkan bangunan yang fungsional, aman, nyaman, dan responsif terhadap lingkungan. Asrama SD Putra Sekolah Rakyat Jombang dirancang sebagai hunian pendidikan yang mengusung konsep Islamic Traditional School, dengan mengintegrasikan nilai-nilai arsitektur Islam, identitas lokal Jombang, serta strategi desain pasif melalui inner courtyard, open corridor, pemanfaatan material lokal, dan optimalisasi pencahayaan serta penghawaan alami untuk mendukung pembentukan karakter dan aktivitas belajar siswa. Sementara itu, AMLU Villa Tabanan Bali dirancang sebagai bangunan hunian yang mengedepankan kenyamanan, privasi, serta pengalaman ruang yang harmonis dengan karakter alam Bali melalui pendekatan arsitektur tropis, pemanfaatan potensi tapak, hubungan ruang dalam dan luar, serta penggunaan material yang selaras dengan lingkungan sekitar. Kedua proyek menunjukkan bagaimana rancangan arsitektur mampu menjawab kebutuhan pengguna melalui pengolahan fungsi ruang, organisasi sirkulasi, penerapan standar keselamatan dan kenyamanan, serta integrasi aspek lingkungan dan budaya setempat. Kajian ini menegaskan pentingnya peran arsitek dalam menghasilkan rancangan yang tidak hanya memenuhi aspek teknis dan estetika, tetapi juga memberikan nilai keberlanjutan, identitas lokal, dan kualitas ruang yang bermakna bagi penggunanya. The Boys' Dormitory of Sekolah Rakyat Jombang and AMLU Villa Tabanan Bali represent two distinct architectural approaches that respond to different building functions and user characteristics while sharing the same principles of contextual architecture, sustainability, and user-oriented design. The implementation of the 13 competency standards established by the Indonesian Institute of Architects (IAI) serves as the primary foundation throughout the design process to ensure functional, safe, comfortable, and environmentally responsive buildings. The Boys' Dormitory of Sekolah Rakyat Jombang is designed as an educational residential facility adopting the Islamic Traditional School concept, integrating Islamic architectural values, Jombang's local identity, and passive design strategies through an inner courtyard, open corridors, the use of local materials, and the optimization of natural lighting and ventilation to support students' character development and learning activities. Meanwhile, AMLU Villa Tabanan Bali is designed as a residential villa that emphasizes comfort, privacy, and a harmonious spatial experience with Bali's natural environment through a tropical architectural approach, site-responsive planning, strong indoor-outdoor relationships, and the use of materials that complement the surrounding landscape. Both projects demonstrate how architectural design can effectively address users' needs through functional spatial organization, efficient circulation, compliance with safety and comfort standards, and the integration of environmental and cultural contexts. This study highlights the essential role of architects in creating designs that not only fulfill technical and aesthetic requirements but also promote sustainability, strengthen local identity, and provide meaningful spatial experiences for their users.
