Abstract

Monitoring garansi bangunan kapal baru pasca delivery pada umumnya masih dilakukan melalui pencatatan manual dan penyimpanan dokumen yang tersebar pada berbagai departemen, sehingga proses penelusuran informasi menjadi lambat, sulit dipantau, serta meningkatkan risiko terlewatnya masa berlaku garansi maupun hilangnya hak klaim kepada galangan, Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM), atau supplier. Penelitian ini bertujuan merancang model aplikasi monitoring garansi bangunan kapal baru berbasis Visual Basic for Applications (VBA) sebagai media pengelolaan informasi garansi yang lebih terintegrasi. Metode penelitian diawali dengan mengidentifikasi dan mengelompokkan komponen kapal ke dalam kategori konstruksi lambung (hull construction), permesinan, outfitting, elektrikal, navigasi, serta sistem pendukung lainnya. Selanjutnya dilakukan pembagian skema garansi menjadi dua tahap, yaitu garansi galangan yang berlaku selama 12 bulan sejak tanggal delivery dan garansi OEM yang berlaku setelah masa garansi galangan berakhir. Tahap berikutnya meliputi identifikasi klausul garansi dari masing-masing komponen berdasarkan dokumen kontrak dan kebijakan OEM, penyusunan tabulasi klausul garansi sebagai basis data monitoring, serta perancangan model aplikasi berbasis Microsoft Excel-VBA yang mengintegrasikan data garansi dengan stakeholder terkait, meliputi owner, galangan, procurement, quality control, superintendent, dan supplier. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa model aplikasi mampu mengelola data kapal dan komponen secara terpusat, memantau status garansi secara otomatis, mendokumentasikan terms and conditions, menghasilkan proposal klaim secara sistematis, serta meningkatkan ketertelusuran informasi garansi. Dibandingkan metode konvensional yang bergantung pada arsip manual, pencarian dokumen, dan koordinasi antarbagian, model aplikasi menawarkan proses yang lebih cepat, akurat, terdokumentasi, dan mendukung pengambilan keputusan. Namun demikian, implementasinya masih bergantung pada kedisiplinan pengguna dalam memperbarui data serta belum terintegrasi secara langsung dengan sistem informasi perusahaan maupun basis data daring.

Monitoring warranty for newly built ships after delivery is generally performed using manual records and dispersed documentation across multiple departments, resulting in slow information retrieval, limited traceability, and an increased risk of missing warranty periods or losing warranty claim rights against shipyards, Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs), or suppliers. This study aims to design a warranty monitoring application model for newly built ships using Visual Basic for Applications (VBA) as an integrated warranty information management system. The research methodology begins with identifying and classifying ship components into hull construction, machinery, outfitting, electrical, navigation, and other supporting systems. Subsequently, the warranty scheme is divided into two stages: shipyard warranty, which remains valid for 12 months from the delivery date, and OEM warranty, which becomes effective after the expiration of the shipyard warranty. The following stages include identifying warranty clauses for each component based on shipbuilding contracts and OEM warranty policies, tabulating warranty clauses as the basis of the monitoring database, and developing a Microsoft Excel-VBA application model that integrates warranty data with relevant stakeholders, including shipowners, shipyards, procurement personnel, quality control, superintendents, and suppliers. The results demonstrate that the proposed application model is capable of centrally managing ship and component data, automatically monitoring warranty status, documenting warranty terms and conditions, and generating structured warranty claim proposals while improving warranty information traceability. Compared with the conventional approach, which relies on manual documentation, document retrieval, and interdepartmental coordination, the proposed model provides faster information access, greater accuracy, improved documentation, and better support for decision-making. Nevertheless, its implementation still depends on users' discipline in updating data and has not yet been directly integrated with enterprise information systems or online databases.
