Abstract
Zeolitic Imidazolate Framework-8 (ZIF-8) merupakan salah satu material Metal Organic Frameworks (MOFs) berpori yang memiliki struktur teratur dan stabilitas tinggi sehingga berpotensi digunakan dalam aplikasi adsorpsi dan pemisahan gas. Karakteristik ZIF-8 dipengaruhi oleh kondisi sintesis, terutama jenis media reaksi yang berperan dalam proses pembentukan kristal. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis pengaruh variasi media reaksi berupa metanol, N,N-dimetilformamida (DMF), dan air dengan modular asam asetat–trietilamina (TEA) terhadap karakteristik ZIF-8. Sintesis ZIF-8 dilakukan menggunakan prekursor Zn2+ dan 2-metilimidazol dengan variasi media reaksi. Karakterisasi dilakukan menggunakan FTIR, XRD, FESEM, dan EDX. Hasil FTIR menunjukkan keberadaan gugus karakteristik ZIF-8, terutama vibrasi cincin imidazolat dan ikatan Zn-N pada rentang 420-426 cm-1. Analisis XRD menunjukkan seluruh sampel berhasil membentuk fase kristalin ZIF-8 dengan puncak karakteristik bidang (011), (002), (112), (022), (013), dan (222). Sampel denggan media reaksi metanol menghasilkan intensitas difraksi tertinggi dengan relatif kristalinitas sebesar 100%, sedangkan sampel dengan media reaksi air dengan modular asam asetat-TEA dan DMF masing-masing sebesar 62,03% dan 54,91%Analisis d-spacing menunjukkan sampel dengan media reaksi DMF memiliki jarak antarbidang terbesar, sedangkan sampel dengan media reaksi metanol menghasilkan jarak antarbidang paling kecil. Hasil FESEM menunjukkan DMF menghasilkan morfologi partikel yang lebih teratur dibandingkan sampel lainnya, sedangkan analisis EDX mengonfirmasi keberadaan unsur Zn, C, dan N sebagai penyusun kerangka ZIF-8. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian, variasi media reaksi memengaruhi karakteristik kristal, jarak antarbidang, dan morfologi ZIF-8. Metanol menghasilkan respons kristalin paling kuat, sedangkan DMF memberikan pengaruh terhadap pembentukan morfologi partikel yang lebih teratur. Sistem air dengan modular asam asetat–TEA menghasilkan karakteristik antara kedua media tersebut.

Zeolytic Imidazolate Framework-8 (ZIF-8) is a porous Metal Organic Frameworks (MOFs) material that has a regular structure and high stability so it has the potential to be used in gas adsorption and certification applications. The characteristics of ZIF-8 are influenced by the synthesis conditions, especially the type of reaction media that plays a role in the crystal formation process. This study aims to analyze the effect of variations in reaction media in the form of methanol, N,N-dimethylformamide (DMF), and water with acetic acid–triethylamine (TEA) modular on the characteristics of ZIF-8. ZIF-8 synthesis was carried out using Zn2+ and 2-methylimidazole precursors with various reaction media. Characterization was carried out using FTIR, XRD, FESEM, and EDX. FTIR results showed the presence of characteristic groups of ZIF-8, especially the vibration of the imidazolate ring and the Zn-N bond at a distance of 420-426 cm-1. XRD sample analysis showed that all of them successfully formed the ZIF-8 crystalline phase with characteristic peaks of (011), (002), (112), (022), (013), and (222). The sample with methanol reaction media produced the highest diffraction intensity with a relative crystallinity of 100%, while the sample with water reaction media with acetic acid-TEA and DMF modular were 62,03% and 54,91%, respectively. The d-spacing analysis showed that the sample with DMF reaction media had the largest interplane distance, while the sample with methanol reaction media produced the smallest interplane distance. FESEM results showed that DMF produced a more regular particle morphology analysis compared to the other samples, while EDX confirmed the presence of Zn, C, and N elements as constituents of the ZIF-8 framework. Based on the results of the study, variations in the reaction media affected the crystal characteristics, interplane distance, and morphology of ZIF-8. Methanol produced the strongest crystalline response, while DMF influenced the formation of a more regular particle morphology. The air system with acetic acid–TEA modular produced characteristics between the two media.
