Abstract

Indonesia is an archipelagic country, so it is very important to improve aerospace technology which is the main tool for the defense system to defend the country’s sovereignty. One example is a missile that can be controlled remotely. A missile is a military rocket weapon that has an automatic control system to find its target or adjust its direction. Logically, the existence of defense equipment (main weapon system) or rather long-range missiles is acceptable to support the defense and security of the Republic of Indonesia, but the consequences are for it to be operated in Indonesia’s own territory. If there is an error in determining the target, it will cause losses to the country’s own territory. The type of missile used in this research is a cruise missile. Where the target must be struck from above, subject to missile dynamics and path constraints. The generic shape of the optimal trajectory is: level flight, climbing, dive; this combination of the three flight phases is called the bunt manoeuvre. In this research, control will be carried out on the missile with the aim that the missile can move towards the target according to the desired trajectory. The mathematical model for missiles is nonlinear. The control method used is Nonlinear Model Predictive Control (NMPC). Extended Kalman Filter is used to provide an estimate of the state so that the control input is more accurate. The estimation results obtained will be used in the NMPC control method.
