Abstract
Pada penelitian ini katalis Zn1-xFexF2
telah berhasil disintesis
menggunakan metode sol-gel dengan nilai x = 0,000; 0,025; 0,050; 0,075; 0,100
dan 0,150. Struktur kristal hasil sintesis dikarakterisasi dengan difraksi sinar-X
(XRD), ikatan kimia diamati dengan spektroskopi inframerah (FTIR), keasaman
katalis ditentukan dengan metode adsorpsi piridin FTIR, dan dan morfologi katalis
diamati dengan SEM-EDX. Pola XRD menunjukkan bahwa katalis Zn1-xFexF2
tersusun oleh fasa seng fluorida (ZnF2), seng hidroksida fluorida (ZnF(OH)) dan
seng oksida (ZnO). Hasil karakterisasi dengan IR menunjukkan adanya ikatan Zn
F, Zn-OH, dan Fe-F pada padatan katalis Zn1-xFexF2. Situs asam Lewis dan
Brønsted dari katalis Zn1-xFexF2
meningkat dengan adanya doping Fe. Hasil SEM
EDX menunjukkan bahwa katalis Zn1-xNixF2 memiliki permukaan yang tidak
beraturan serta terdapat unsur Zn, Fe dan F yang tersebar merata pada katalis. Uji
katalisis dilakukan melalui reaksi pembentukan asam laktat dengan selulosa dan
glukosa sebagai reaktan awal. Yield asam laktat tertinggi baik dari reaktan awal
selulosa maupun glukosa dicapai oleh katalis Zn0,925Fe0,075F2 dengan persentase
masing-masing 66,01 dan 76,59%. Hasil uji katalisis menunjukkan bahwa pada
reaksi pembentukan asam laktat dari selulosa dapat melalui tahap pembentukan
glukosa terlebih dahulu dan dari selulosa secara langsung.

In this study the catalyst Zn1-xFexF2 has been successfully synthesized
using sol-gel method with a value of x = 0.000; 0.025; 0.050; 0.075; 0.100 and
0.150. The resulting crystal structure was characterized by X-ray diffraction (XRD),
chemical synthesis observed by infrared spectroscopy (FTIR), catalyst preparation
was determined by FTIR pyridine adsorption method, and the morphology of the
catalyst was observed by SEM-EDX. The XRD pattern shows that the Zn1-xFexF2
catalyst is composed of zinc fluoride (ZnF2), zinc hydroxide fluoride (ZnF(OH))
and zinc oxide (ZnO) phases. The results of the IR showed the presence of Zn-F,
Zn-OH, and Fe-F characters on the Zn1-xFexF2 catalyst. The Lewis and Brønsted
acid sites of the Zn1-xFexF2 catalyst were increased in the presence of Fe doping.
SEM-EDX results show that the Zn1-xFexF2 catalyst has an irregular surface and Zn,
Fe and F elements are evenly distributed on the catalyst. The catalysis test was
carried out through the reaction of the formation of lactic acid with cellulose and
glucose as the initial reaction. The highest yield of lactic acid from the initial
reactants of cellulose and glucose was achieved by the catalyst Zn1-xFexF2 with a
percentage of 66.01 and 76.59%, respectively. The results of the catalysis test show
that the reaction for the formation of lactic acid from cellulose can go through the
steps of forming glucose first and from cellulose directly.
