Abstract

Dengan adanya persaingan industri yang semakin ketat dan pesatnya perkembangan teknologi informasi, PT ICTL dituntut untuk lebih selektif dalam menentukan teknologi informasinya. Kesalahan pemilihan teknologi yang akan digunakan dapat menyebabkan hilangnya kesempatan dalam pengembangan sistem. Oleh karena itu, manajemen PT ICTL membutuhkan suatu metode untuk membantu proses pengambilan keputusan dalam penerapan sistem informasi yang akan dibangun terlebih dahulu. Sistem-sistem informasi yang akan dibangun antara lain untuk perencanaan kebutuhan material, penggajian, dan akuntansi biaya manufaktur. Tesis ini menggunakan metode Information Economics dalam menganalisis manfaat atau nilai kontribusi ekonomi dari sistem informasi yang akan dibangun. Metode ini menganalisis secara keseluruhan nilai ekonomis yang ada pada domain bisnis dan domain teknologi, seperti finansial, strategis, risiko strategi persaingan, dan risiko bagi organisasi terkait. Hasil penelitian ini adalah skor atau nilai akhir dari masing-masing proyek sistem informasi yang akan dibangun. Berdasarkan masing-masing nilai akhir proyek tersebut, selanjutnya dapat dibuat suatu peringkat prioritas proyek, sehingga pengambilan keputusan didapat dari penentuan peringkat prioritas proyek sistem informasi tersebut.

As industry competition becomes tighter and information technology grows faster, PT ICTL is required to be more selective in implementing its information technology. Using the wrong technology can cause the loss of opportunities for system extension; therefore, the management needs a method to help decide which information systems they need to build first. PT ICTL intends to build several information systems, such as material requirements planning, payroll, and cost accounting. Information Economics is the method used to analyze information technology projects based on their value or contribution values. This method analyzes the overall economic value across business and technology domains, such as finances, competitive strategies, and the risks involved for the organization. The result of this research is the final score of each proposed information system project. Project priorities can be established based on these final scores, allowing management to make decisions accordingly.
