Abstract

Pengelolaan persediaan merupakan salah satu faktor yang menentukan keberhasilan perusahaan manufaktur dalam menghasilkan produk yang berkualitas dan tepat waktu. Permasalahan ketidaktepatan waktu kedatangan bahan baku serta jumlah persediaan yang berlebihan sangat berpengaruh terhadap tingginya biaya operasional pabrik. Kendala yang terdapat pada PT Djabes Sejati adalah sistem pengadaan bahan baku pipa PVC yang didasarkan pada estimasi rencana produksi, sehingga menyebabkan jumlah produksi tidak sesuai dengan rencana dan mengakibatkan sering terjadinya kelebihan atau kekurangan persediaan. Oleh karena itu, perlu dilakukan perbaikan dalam menentukan jumlah pengadaan bahan baku pipa PVC dengan menerapkan sistem Just In Time (JIT). Dalam penerapan sistem pengadaan berdasarkan Just In Time (JIT), bahan baku pipa PVC akan didatangkan sesuai dengan kebutuhan bahan baku di bagian produksi menggunakan Pull System (sistem tarik). Dasar pemilihan bahan baku yang akan diterapkan dalam sistem Just In Time adalah bahan baku yang memiliki jumlah permintaan dengan koefisien variasi (Coefficient of Variation) CV < 15%. Hasil penerapan sistem Just In Time (JIT) menunjukkan adanya penurunan Holding Cost sebesar 41,2% dan kenaikan biaya transportasi sebesar 4,7%, sehingga secara keseluruhan total biaya berkurang sebesar 9,8%.

Inventory management is one of the factors determining the success of a manufacturing company in producing quality products on time. Delays in raw material arrivals and excessive inventory levels have a significant impact on increasing factory operational costs. PT Djabes Sejati faces an obstacle in its PVC pipe raw material procurement system, which is based on estimated production plans. This condition causes the actual production quantity to differ from the planned quantity, resulting in frequent overstock or understock conditions. Therefore, improvements are needed in determining the procurement quantity of PVC pipe raw materials by implementing the Just In Time (JIT) system. Under the Just In Time (JIT)-based procurement system, PVC pipe raw materials are supplied according to the raw material requirements of the production division using a Pull System. The raw materials selected for the implementation of the Just In Time system are those with a coefficient of variation (CV) of demand below 15%. The implementation of the Just In Time (JIT) system resulted in a 41.2% reduction in Holding Cost and a 4.7% increase in transportation costs, leading to an overall reduction in total costs of 9.8%.
