Abstract
Greywater merupakan air limbah domestik yang perlu diolah sebelum dibuang supaya tidak mencemari lingkungan. Tujuan penelitian adalah mengkaji seberapa besar kinerja constructed wetland dalam menyisihkan BOD₅, COD, N total Kjeldahl, nitrat, nitrit, P total, dan pH dari greywater serta menetapkan variabel apa saja yang memengaruhinya. Variabel dalam penelitian antara lain pre-treatment aerasi dan non-aerasi. Variabel lain antara lain: 1) debit 1 mL/menit dan 3 mL/menit, dan 2) jumlah tumbuhan 4 dan 6 tumbuhan per reaktor. Metode yang digunakan adalah free water surface constructed wetland (FWSCW). Greywater diambil dari outlet kamar mandi asrama ITS. Pengamatan dilakukan setiap 6 hari selama 18 hari.
Hasil analisis statistik menunjukkan bahwa variasi aerasi dan variasi perbedaan jumlah tumbuhan berpengaruh signifikan (p < 0,050) terhadap penyisihan parameter, sedangkan variabel perbedaan debit tidak berpengaruh signifikan terhadap penyisihan parameter (p > 0,050). Berdasarkan nilai Duncan's pada perlakuan 4 tumbuhan, removal parameter N total Kjeldahl, nitrat, nitrit, dan fosfat total lebih baik dibandingkan dengan 6 tumbuhan. Parameter pH pada perlakuan dengan 6 tumbuhan menunjukkan nilai Duncan's yang lebih tinggi dibandingkan perlakuan dengan 4 tumbuhan. Secara keseluruhan, dapat ditetapkan urutan parameter esensial bagi tanaman, dimulai dari yang terpenting, yaitu N total Kjeldahl, pH, nitrat, fosfat total, dan nitrit.

Greywater is a type of domestic wastewater that needs to be treated before being discharged into water bodies in order to prevent environmental pollution. The aim of this research was to determine the results of constructed wetland application using water hyacinth for improving BOD, COD, total Kjeldahl nitrogen, nitrate, nitrite, total phosphate, and pH values of greywater. The variables in this research included the application of aeration and no aeration as pre-treatment for the greywater. Other variables were: 1) flow rates of 1 mL/minute and 3 mL/minute, and 2) plant densities of 4 and 6 plants per reactor. The wetland method used in this research was free water surface constructed wetland. The greywater was taken from the bathroom wastewater outlet of the ITS student dormitory. Monitoring was conducted every 6 days over a period of 18 consecutive days.
Statistical analysis showed that aeration and plant density variables significantly affected (p > 0.05) the parameter removal efficiencies, whereas flow rate did not have a significant effect (p > 0.05). Duncan's test showed that the reactor with a plant density of 4 plants provided better total Kjeldahl nitrogen, nitrate, nitrite, and total phosphate removal efficiencies than the reactor with a plant density of 6 plants. The pH values showed a higher Duncan's value in the reactor with a plant density of 6 plants than in the reactor with 4 plants. The most essential water quality parameters needed by the plants were total Kjeldahl nitrogen, pH, nitrate, total phosphate, and nitrite.
