Abstract

Saat ini fakultas teknik Universitas 45 memiliki sistem informasi akademik back office yang mengelola data administrasi akademik dari tiga jurusan yang ada secara stand alone, yang operasionalnya dilakukan oleh salah satu staf TU fakultas. Selama ini, sistem informasi akademik yang ada sudah mencukupi kebutuhan operasional sehari-hari, namun fungsi-fungsi yang ada dalam sistem tersebut tidak sepenuhnya bisa mendukung tujuan akademik Universitas, seperti misalnya: tidak bisa mencetak transkrip nilai, tidak bisa menyediakan informasi kehadiran dosen dan mahasiswa, dll. Untuk itu perlu adanya analisa untuk mengetahui kesenjangan antara sistem informasi akademik fakultas teknik eksisting dengan tujuan akademik Universitas sebagai dasar perbaikan sistem tersebut dimasa mendatang. Analisa kesenjangan diawali dengan pengumpulan data dan informasi melalui studi dokemen, wawancara, observasi dan browsing. Selanjutnya akan dilakukan analisa kondisi eksisting untuk mengetahui secara detil proses akademik yang ada di fakultas teknik saat ini, dan untuk mengetahui fitur dan fungsi-fungsi apa saja yang ada dalam sistem informasi akademik fakultas teknik eksisting. Tahap berikutnya akan dilakukan interpretasi kondisi mendatang untuk mengetahui tujuan akademik universitas dimasa mendatang, dan potensi aplikasi yang bisa mendukung tujuan tersebut, kemudian dilanjutkan dengan melakukan analisa kesenjangan antara sistem informasi akademik fakultas teknik eksisting dengan potensi aplikasi sistem informasi akademik fakultas teknik mendatang sebagai dasar untuk membuat rekomendasi sistem informasi akademik fakultas teknik dimasa mendatang. Dari tesis ini dihasilkan rekomendasi untuk mengembangkan sistem informasi akademik fakultas teknik eksisting dengan menambahkan fitur/fungsi-fungsi baru agar memiliki kontribusi yang lebih maksimal terhadap tujuan akademik Universitas.

Nowadays, University 45 technique faculty has an office back information system academic which is managing administration data of academic from three existing majors by stand alone, which the operational is conducted by one of the staffs of TU faculty. During the time, existing academic system information has answered the demand of requirement of everyday operational, but the existing functions in the system can not fully support the target of University academic, for instance: Not being able to print transcript value, not being able to provide information attendance of students and lecturers, etc. That's why an analysis is needed to know gap/difference between the existing academic information system faculty of technique and the goal of University academic as base to make the system better in the future period. Gap analysis is started by collecting data and information through study of document, interview, and observation of browsing. Then analyzing the existing will be carried out to know the condition of academic existing process in faculty of technique in detail at present, and also to know the any features and functions in the existing academic information system of technique faculty. Next phase, an interpretation of future condition will be conducted to know the university academic goal in the future period, and application of potency which can support the target will also be conducted, then continued by analyzing the difference between existing academic information system of technique faculty and the academic information system of potency application of technique faculty in future period as a base to make recommendation of academic information system of technique faculty in the future. From this thesis is resulted a recommendation to develop the existing academic information system of technique faculty by enhancing features/new functions to have more maximum contribution to the goal of University academic.
