Abstract

Biflavonoid 5,7,4',3",5",7",2"',4"',5"'-nonahidroksi-[3,8"]-biflavanon (1) dan 5,7,3",5",7",2"',4"',6"'-dekahidroksi-[3,8"]-biflavanon (2) yang mana telah dipisahkan dari ekstrak metanol biji buah Garcinia picrorhiza Miq., menggunakan cara maserasi dan fraksinasi dengan berbagai metode kromatografi. Pemurnian dilakukan dengan cara kromatografi lapis tipis preparatif (KLTP) dan penentuan struktur memanfaatkan data spektroskopi UV, IR, 1H-NMR dan 13C-NMR. Kedua senyawa menunjukkan aktivitas antimalaria terhadap Plasmodium falciparum.

Biflavonoid 5,7,4',3",5",7",2"',4"',5"'-nonahydroxy-[3,8"]-biflavanone (1) and 5,7,3",5",7",2"',4"',6"'-decahydroxy-[3,8"]-biflavanone (2) were isolated from methanol extract of the seeds of Garcinia picrorhiza Miq. by maceration technique and fractionation using various chromatography methods. Purification was carried out using preparative thin-layer chromatography (preparative TLC), and structure elucidation was performed using UV, IR, 1H-NMR, and 13C-NMR spectroscopy data. Both compounds showed antimalarial activity against Plasmodium falciparum.
