Abstract

Two biflavonoid compounds, GB-la (1) and morelloflavon (2) have been isolated from methanol extract of wood Garcinia xanthochymus that collected in Kebun Raya Bogor, West Java. Both of them were isolated using extraction method by maceration and then fractination by vacuum column chromathography (KCV) and purified by preparative thin layer chromatography (KLTp). The structure has been elucidated with the aid of physical data and spectroscopic techniques UV, IR, ¹H and ¹³C NMR. Compounds 2 was more potent antimalarial activity against Plasmodium falciparum 3D7 strain than compound 1 with IC50 values of 0,01 pg/ml and 0,34 pg/ml.
