Abstract

==============================================================================================================================
PLN, through its subsidiary, PT Indonesia Comnets Plus (ICON+), released a new fixed broadband internet service called Iconnet at the end of May 2021. After more than half a year of operation, Iconnet had served more than 120,000 customers. However, this figure was still relatively low compared to other competitors that had been operating longer and had a larger customer base. To compete and attract more customers, ICON+ needs to understand customers’ opinions regarding the Iconnet services provided. Therefore, ICON\+ can conduct monitoring to identify feedback or responses from customers and the wider community regarding whether their perceptions of Iconnet services tend to be positive or negative. The monitoring results can then be used as an evaluation to improve the quality of Iconnet services and attract more customers. Therefore, an analysis of public opinion regarding Iconnet internet services is needed. This study aims to determine public opinions regarding Iconnet services through Twitter, one of the most popular social media platforms in Indonesia, ranking fifth in popularity. Twitter is widely used by users to express their opinions. To determine the opinions of Twitter users, sentiment analysis was conducted using the Naïve Bayes Classifier method. First, the data were collected through web scraping, followed by a data preprocessing stage to make the data easier to analyze. The data that had undergone text preprocessing were divided into training data and testing data at 80% and 20%, respectively. The classification process was then performed to determine which texts belonged to the negative and positive categories. The results showed that, from 1,924 tweets, 64% belonged to the positive sentiment class and 36% belonged to the negative sentiment class. The classification results for the testing data showed an accuracy of 60.57%, sensitivity of 43.02%, and specificity of 91.92%. For the training data, the classification results showed an accuracy of 65.63%, sensitivity of 54.46%, and specificity of 85.14%.
