Abstract

Pada tahun 2021, Fakultas Vokasi Institut Teknologi Sepuluh Nopember meluluskan angkatan pertama dengan program studi sarjana terapan yang terdiri atas enam departemen. Program studi sarjana terapan terbentuk pada tahun 2019 melalui Peraturan Rektor Nomor 13 Tahun 2019. Pendidikan vokasi cenderung mempersiapkan peserta didiknya untuk menguasai suatu keahlian yang bertujuan mengasah kemampuan atau keterampilan mahasiswa agar dapat diterapkan dalam dunia kerja. Ketidakseimbangan antara jumlah lulusan dan jumlah lapangan pekerjaan yang tersedia menyebabkan persaingan untuk mendapatkan pekerjaan pertama semakin ketat. Salah satu hal yang berkaitan dengan peluang mendapatkan lapangan pekerjaan adalah akreditasi perguruan tinggi. Akreditasi perguruan tinggi dinilai melalui beberapa indikator, salah satunya adalah waktu tunggu lulusan dalam mendapatkan pekerjaan. Oleh karena itu, dilakukan penelitian mengenai waktu tunggu lulusan Fakultas Vokasi Institut Teknologi Sepuluh Nopember dalam mendapatkan pekerjaan menggunakan regresi Cox Proportional Hazard. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui karakteristik lulusan dan faktor-faktor yang berpengaruh terhadap waktu tunggu lulusan dalam mendapatkan pekerjaan pertama. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa rata-rata waktu tunggu lulusan dalam mendapatkan pekerjaan pertama adalah 47–48 hari, dengan predikat IPK sangat memuaskan serta memiliki kemampuan bahasa Inggris yang baik. Variabel yang berpengaruh signifikan terhadap waktu tunggu lulusan dalam mendapatkan pekerjaan pertama adalah pengalaman kerja dan departemen.

In 2021, the Vocational Faculty at the Sepuluh Nopember Institute of Technology graduated its first cohort from applied undergraduate study programs consisting of six departments. The applied undergraduate study programs were established in 2019 through Chancellor's Regulation Number 13 of 2019\. Vocational education tends to prepare students to master specific skills aimed at developing their abilities for application in the workplace. The imbalance between the number of graduates and the number of available job opportunities has made competition for obtaining a first job increasingly intense. One factor related to employment opportunities is university accreditation. Higher education accreditation is assessed through several indicators, one of which is the waiting time for graduates to obtain employment. Therefore, a study was conducted on the waiting time for graduates of the Vocational Faculty at the Sepuluh Nopember Institute of Technology to obtain their first job using Cox Proportional Hazards regression. The purpose of this study was to determine the characteristics of graduates and identify the factors that influence the waiting time for graduates to obtain their first job. The results of this study show that the average waiting time for graduates to obtain their first job was 47–48 days, with graduates having a very satisfactory GPA and good English proficiency. The variables that significantly affected the waiting time for graduates to obtain their first job were work experience and department.
