Abstract

Crane barge (CB) is a type of barge which is equipped with a crane in order to do lifting operation at offshore site. The Transportation Barge (TB) defined as barge that is used for pick up the structure through the sea. Wave load which applied on CB and TB make both of them will having dynamic behavior, especially in their motion. This final project analyzes the CB and TB motion specified on periodical wave loading for over 10 years. For this occasion, analysis use MOSES for its software. The mooring systems are used in order to reduce motion and keep CB and TB stay in its position. The modeling used different number of mooring configuration to determine which model that produce smallest motion. From the result, the smallest motion occurred on spread mooring system which has 4 mooring lines attached on CB, 4 mooring lines attached on TB and 2 wire ropes between CB and TB. This mooring system shall produce maximum motion on CB with largest amount of surge for heading 180° is about 1.5 ft, 1.7 ft for sway on heading 90°, 2.9° for roll on heading 90°, 1.7° for pitch on heading 45°, and 4.9 ft/s² for the vertical acceleration on heading 180°. Hence for TB, the maximum value for motion occurred on surge heading 90° with the biggest value: 2.4 ft, 1.5 ft for sway on heading 180°, 0.5° for roll on heading 0°, 1.9° for pitch on heading 90°, and 4.7 ft/s² for the vertical acceleration on heading 180°. Later they are checked out with standards that common used by DNV (marine operation), PT. Total E&P Indonesie (lifting operation), and based on the established value of Subjective Motion (SM). The next step is, attach sling on hook load. The critical condition shall happen when the initial taut is applied because create unstable position of CB and motion of TB will be bigger than before. So that is needed ballasting/de-ballasting process to keep stability and relative motion between CB and TB to avoid impact between hook load and TB. From the analysis result after doing ballasting/de-ballasting, the lifting operation should be started immediately before event 75 s is reached, because on this event will occur impact between hook load and TB.
