Abstract

Minyak mentah difraksinasi menjadi tiga macam fraksi antara lain fraksi netral, fraksi asam dan fraksi polar. Fraksi polar merupakan fraksi yang mencakup senyawa dengan struktur besar yang disebut senyawa makromolekul. Degradasi senyawa makromolekul secara kimiawi menggunakan HI/LiAlH₄ hanya spesifik untuk membebaskan senyawa biomarka yang terikat pada senyawa makromolekul dengan ikatan C-O-C. Pada penelitian ini digunakan sampel minyak mentah jenis Light Hydrocarbon dari Laut Jawa. Hasil identifikasi biomarka menggunakan KG-SM (Kromatografi Gas-Spektrometri Massa) menunjukkan adanya senyawa bifitan beserta turunannya dan hopanoid. Senyawa yang teridentifikasi ini menunjukkan bahwa minyak mentah tersebut mempunyai tingkat kematangan yang cukup dan diperkirakan berasal dari organisme laut yang dimungkinkan, dan adanya kontribusi dari organisme darat.

Crude oil was fractionated in three fraction, there were neutral fraction, acid fraction and polar fraction. Polar fraction was the fraction with large compounds called macromolecule compound. Degradation of macromolecule compound with chemistry method used HI/LiAlH₄, specific to separate biomarker bonded in macromolecule compound with C-O-C bond. This research used crude oil of Java Sea sample type Light Hydrocarbon was explorated by PT. KODECO. Identification of biomarker compound with GC-MS (Gas Chromatography-Mass Spectrometry) indicated biomarker compound, there were biphytan and the derivate of biphytan and hopanoid. Analysis result identified compound revealed that crude oil is mature and origin of organic matter from marine and terrestrial organism.
