Abstract

Information about the potential of a region, such as its tourism and industrial sectors, is important. Web-based Geographic Information System (WebGIS) technology is a method that can be used to obtain such information quickly. The data used to develop WebGIS consist of regional potential data and spatial data, such as online maps and remote sensing imagery from Google Maps, using the Google Maps API. This method is expected to provide information and enable users to explore the potential of the tourism and industrial sectors without limitations of time and place.
The result is a web-based Geographic Information System application that provides information about the tourism and industrial sectors. The recorded information includes 16 tourism attractions in the tourism sector and 15 types of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in the industrial sector in Sidoarjo and Pasuruan Regencies.

Informasi mengenai potensi suatu daerah, seperti sektor pariwisata dan industri, merupakan hal yang penting. Metode yang dapat digunakan untuk memperoleh informasi tersebut dengan cepat adalah dengan memanfaatkan teknologi Sistem Informasi Geografis berbasis web (WebGIS). Data yang digunakan untuk pembuatan WebGIS, selain data yang berkaitan dengan potensi daerah, adalah data spasial berupa peta dan citra penginderaan jauh daring (online) dari Google Maps dengan menggunakan bantuan aplikasi Google Maps API.
Metode ini diharapkan dapat memberikan informasi dan memudahkan pengguna untuk mengetahui potensi sektor pariwisata dan industri tanpa terbatas oleh waktu dan tempat. Hasil yang diperoleh adalah sebuah program aplikasi Sistem Informasi Geografis berbasis web mengenai informasi sektor pariwisata dan industri. Adapun informasi yang telah direkam meliputi 16 objek wisata pada sektor pariwisata dan 15 jenis UKM pada sektor industri di Kabupaten Sidoarjo dan Pasuruan.
