Abstract

Masyarakat Samin, Dusun Jepang, Margomulyo, Bojonegoro, mulai terbuka terhadap perubahan dan modernitas, serta mulai menganggap penting arti pendidikan. Di tengah semangat yang besar untuk mendapatkan pendidikan dan penghidupan yang layak, masyarakat Jepang terbatasi oleh kurangnya sarana penunjang pendidikan, kurangnya pelatihan kerja dan keterampilan selain pertanian, serta infrastruktur dan keadaan dusun yang menuntut perhatian pemerintah. Untuk itu, dirancang sebuah film dokumenter yang mampu menjadi faktor pendorong pada target audiens untuk memberikan perhatian pada masyarakat Samin tersebut, melalui dokumentasi budaya (yaitu personifikasi dari ajaran Samin yang mereka jadikan panutan) sebagai pembangun cerita. Metode penelitiannya adalah observasi, interview, pencarian data dan fakta, serta studi eksisting, studi kompetitor, dan komparator. Dari hasil tersebut dihasilkan sebuah konsep yakni "Keep the Faith" (Menjaga Keyakinan). Hasil dari proses desain ini adalah film dokumenter berdurasi 54 menit dengan topik inti, yaitu asal mula sebutan Samin, ajaran, pergaulan masyarakat Samin, permasalahan pendidikan dan perekonomian, serta pengaruh ajaran Samin pada masyarakat. Dari keseluruhan hasil yang dicapai, diharapkan film dokumenter ini mampu menjadi media yang efektif sebagai faktor pendorong pada penentu kebijakan, sehingga apa yang diharapkan dapat segera terwujud.

The Samin community in Jepang Village, Margomulyo, Bojonegoro, currently opens themselves to change and modernity, and begins to consider the importance of education. In the middle of a great spirit to obtain education and a decent living, they are limited by the lack of supporting educational infrastructure, lack of job skills training in addition to agriculture, as well as the infrastructure and condition of the village that need government attention. Therefore, a documentary was designed to be a motivating factor for the target audience to pay attention to the Samin community through cultural documentation (which is a personification of Samin teachings that they recognize) as the story builder. The research methods were observation, interview, data and fact exploration, as well as existing study, competitor study, and comparator study. From these results, a concept called "Keep the Faith" was produced. The result of the design process is a 54-minute-long documentary whose main topics are the origin of Samin, teachings, Samin community association, education and economic issues, as well as the effect of the teachings on society. From the overall results, this documentary is expected to become an effective medium as a motivating factor in policy making, so that what is expected can be realized soon.
