Abstract
Element is a part of sub boiler's assembly. Specification of element is constructed according to design specification of ordered boiler. A boiler consists of 5 to 10 circuit assembly element, whereas one circuit comprises of tens even hundreds of assembly element. Based on the above matter, with further to shorten the duration of element production process, that also further expected to the cost reduction, company release the policy to apply the new method that so-called "One Stop Station". In this new method, process of assembly element conducted at one workstation. This is different from the previous method in which elements are shifted-about from one workstation to the next workstation. The newly-applied method has an effect to the operators distribution that will have to regularly shifting from one to another workstation at where one element is "start-to-end" fabricated. This study shows that cost-optimum is reached at the point where number of "main workstation" is twice to that of number of "back-up workstation". If shorter production lead time is concern, then the number of "back-up workstation" is same as the number of "main workstation". Furthermore, the number of welder is equal to the amount of number "back-up and main workstation".
