Abstract

Limbah udara yang dihasilkan dari proses produksi perlu mendapat perhatian sesuai dengan Keputusan Menteri Negara Lingkungan Hidup No. 13 Tahun 1995 tanggal 7 Maret 1995, tujuan dari tugas akhir ini adalah mengevaluasi efisiensi dari fabric filter yang sudah ada serta merencanakan desain fabric filter untuk unit produksi yang tidak dilengkapi dengan pengolahan emisi udara. Berdasarkan dari hasil analisa, konsentrasi partikulat melebihi ambang batas yang ditentukan yaitu sebesar 208 mg/m³, sedangkan konsentrasi yang diperbolehkan untuk dibuang ke udara ambient untuk industri besi dan baja jenis tanur busur listrik adalah sebesar 150 mg/m³, pengamatan menunjukkan fabric filter yang sudah ada memerlukan penggantian filter media. Perencanaan fabric filter terhadap unit produksi yang belum dilengkapi alat pengolahan udara menggunakan fabric filter dengan pembersihan pulse-jet.

Air pollution from the production process requires attention according to the Decree of the Minister of Environment No. 13 Year 1995, dated 7 March 1995. The intention of this final assignment is to evaluate the efficiency of the existing fabric filter as well as to design a fabric filter for the production unit with no air emission treatment. Pursuant to the laboratory analysis results, the concentration of particulate exceeds the determined limit, which is 208 mg/m³, while the tolerable concentration to be emitted into the ambient air for the iron and steel industry with an electric arc furnace is 150 mg/m³. The survey shows that the existing fabric filter needs replacement of the filter medium. The design of the fabric filter for the production unit with no air filter processing equipment uses pulse-jet cleaning.
