Abstract

The development of ports in the Indonesian region as a sub-sector of sea transportation is executed to support the transportation of passengers and goods in the form of containers, general cargo, and the provision of transportation systems in the form of pioneer sea transport, local sea transport, and people's sea transport. The tendency of growth in goods loading and unloading activities and passengers at the Port of Wani currently shows a significant increase, while the existing dock facilities at the Port of Wani are unable to accommodate the number of ships to berth. This symptom is seen in the existence of a number of ships awaiting to unload payload goods, where the ships wait alongside a ship currently unloading its payload. Besides, to accommodate berthing ships, it is sometimes forced to be done by berthing only with half the length of the ship so that the dock can accommodate a greater number of ships. To overcome the above problems, the development of the Port of Wani dock will be planned to fulfill technical clauses, namely being able to withstand occurring loads (horizontal and vertical loads) and having serviceability, with the expectation that this planning result can overcome existing problems regarding the structural capacity of the dock in accordance with its function.
