Abstract
Pulau Bawean secara administratif termasuk dalam kabupaten Gresik. Selama ini transportasi
laut menjadi sarana utama dan satu-satunya yang menghubungkan antara Gresik dengan
Bawean. Kenyataan di lapangan saat ini banyak terjadi kecelakaan pada kapal-kapal yang
berbahan dasar fiberglass karena diakibatkan oleh kegetasan dari fiberglass yang tidak mampu
menahan impact load yang terjadi secara terus-menerus yang kemudian berimbas pada
bocornya lambung kapal. Peristiwa tersebut terjadi pula di pelayaran Gresik-Bawean. Untuk
mengatasi masalah tersebut maka dibuat desain Kapal Penumpang Barang untuk Pelayaran
Gresik-Bawean yang berfungsi selain sebagai kapal penyeberangan juga sebagai kapal wisata.
Dari analisis yang dilakukan didapat ukuran utama yang optimal, yakni L = 38 m, B = 8 m, H =
3.4 m, dan T = 2.3 m, dengan biaya pembangunan sebesar Rp 24,211,227,853.18. Dari data
kapal tersebut kemudian dibuat Lines Plan, General Arrangement, Safety Plan, dan desain
interior ruang penumpang.

Bawean Island is included in the administrative area of Gresik Region, and to reach Bawean
from Gresik relies only on the sea transportation. In fact, there were many accidents happened
to fiberglass ships because fiberglass material was brittle and could not stand for continuous
impact load. This led to the damage on the ship’s hull and harm the human life and environment.
The incident also occurred in Gresik-Bawean shipping. To overcome these problems it created
designs of Cargo-Passanger Ship for Gresik-Bawean Route, the function other than as a ferry
boat as well as a tourist. The analysis results in ship with main dimensions as follows: L = 38 m,
B = 8 m, H = 3.4 m, and T = 2.3 m, with estimated cost Rp. 24,211,227,853.18. From the data,
design scope then enlarges into Lines Plan, General Arrangement, Safety Plan and interior
design for passenger deck.
