Abstract

Studi karakteristik respon struktur pada semi-submersible drilling rig perlu dilakukan sebelum sebuah anjungan dioperasikan di lapangan dengan tujuan untuk mengetahui seberapa besar kemampuan struktur tersebut menerima beban gelombang. Dari hal itu kemudian akan dapat diketahui keamanan dari struktur semi-submersible tersebut. Studi dalam penelitian ini telah dilakukan terhadap enam variasi rancangan semi-submersible dengan konfigurasi penampang kolom dan ponton berbentuk persegi empat, berukuran displasemen 24144 ton, yang dioperasikan di perairan Natuna dan North Sea. Enam variasi mempunyai konfigurasi dua kolom miring per ponton, yang dinamakan DUOVAR-A 10, DUOVAR-A 20, DUOVAR-A 30, DUOVAR-B 10, DUOVAR-B 20, dan DUOVAR-B 30. Komputasi respon struktur diselesaikan melalui integrasi kombinasi distribusi massa struktur dan distribusi beban hidrodinamik akibat gerakan di gelombang. Komputasi menghasilkan enam komponen respon, yang terdiri dari tiga komponen gaya geser, yakni longitudinal (LSF), transversal (TSF), dan vertical (VSF), dan tiga komponen momen, yakni momen lengkung melintang (TBM), momen lengkung memanjang (LBM), dan momen torsi vertikal (VTM). Berdaasrkan hasil dari (LSF), (TSF), (VSF), (TBM), (LBM), dan (VBM) maka dari keenam semi-submersible tersebut DUOVAR-B 20 yang memiliki nilai shear force dan bending moment lebih kecil dari pada variasi semi-submersible lainnya, sehingga semi-submersible DUOVAR-B 20 lebih baik digunakan dibandingkan dengan kelima semi-submersible yang lain. ================================================================== A study to characterize the structural responses on semi-submersible drilling rigs needs to be carried out prior to the operation of the platforms on site, with the aims at identifying the structural capacity under the primary wave loads. By realizing this one would then comprehend on the safety of the corresponding semi-submersible structures. The study in this research was carried out on six variations of semi-submersible design configured with rectangular section for the columns and pontoons, sized 24144 tons in displacement, to be operated at Natuna Sea and North Sea. Six variations were designed with two columns per pontoon, named DUOVAR-A 10, DUOVAR-A 20, DUOVAR-A 30, DUOVAR-B 10, DUOVAR-B 20, and DUOVAR-B 30. Computation of structural responses was accomplished through the integration of combination between structural mass distribution and hydrodynamic load distribution due to motions in waves. The computation yields six response components, comprising three shear force components, namely longitudinal (LSF), transversal (TSF), and vertical (VTF), and three moment components, that is transverse bending moment (TBM), longitudinal bending moment (LBM), and yaw torsional moment (YTM). The first approach in the design of semi-submersible structure may be accomplished by considering the TBM, which should be resisted by the transverse deck structure that is recognized as the somewhat weakest primary structural component. By considering these results it is therefore possible to design the transverse deck structure of the semi-submersible DUOVAR-B 20 to have a lower shear force and bending moment, thus it will be essentially lighter in comparison with the other five semi-submersibles.
