Abstract
Road bike adalah jenis sepeda yang mengutamakan
kecepatan ketika digunakan. Rangka merupakan komponen utama
sebagai penopang beban, maka harus aman, kuat, nyaman dan
ringan, sehingga material carbon fiber cocok digunakan untuk
rangka sepeda. Tujuan penelitian penulis adalah menentukan
kombinasi arah serat terbaik pada rangka sepeda carbon fiber
serta mengetahui letak daerah kritis dan lapisan kritis. Desain
kombinasi arah serat terbaik adalah desain yang mempunyai
faktor keamanan terbesar setelah dilakukan simulasi pengujian.
Metode pengujian yang digunakan untuk pengujian desain
rangka sepeda adalah pembebanan statis yaitu torsional loading,
frontal loading, dan vertical loading. Dari data hasil pegujian
yang dilakukan, data dianalisa menggunakan teori tegangan
maksimum, teori tsai hill, dan teori tsai wu. Variasi yang dilakukan
adalah arah serat karbon 0, 45, 90, dan -45, jumlah susunan
lapisan 8 dan 6, dan jenis carbon fiber AS4 dan T800.
Hasil yang didapat dari penelitian adalah desain arah
serat karbon terbaik pada material carbon fiber AS4 dengan
jumlah lapisan 8 lapis yaitu [0/90/90/0]s. Sedangkan hasil desain
terbaik pada rangka sepeda material carbon fiber T800 adalah
kombinasi arah serat [0/45/-45]s.

Road bike is the kind of bike that give priority to speed
when used. Frame is the main component as a support load, then
it must be safe, strong, comfortable and lightweight, so that the
carbon fiber material suitable for bicycle frame. The purpose of
the study authors is to determine the best combination of fiber
direction on carbon fiber bike frame and locate the critical areas
and critical layers. Design the best combination of fiber directions
are those which have the greatest safety factor after the simulation
testing.
Testing methods to test the design of the bike frame is static
loading which torsional loading, frontal loading and vertical
loading. From the data results of test of that is done, the data were
analyzed using the theory of maximum stress, hill tsai theory, and
the theory of wu tsai. Variations are made of carbon fiber direction
of 0, 45, 90, and -45, the amount of the composition of layers 8 and
6, and the type of AS4 carbon fiber and T800.
The results obtained from the research is the design
direction of the best carbon fiber in AS4 carbon fiber material with
a number of layers of 8 layers is [0/90/90/0]s. While the best design
results in material of carbon fiber bike frame T800 is a
combination of fiber direction [0/45 / -45]s.
