Abstract

Mobil sapuangin merupakan mobil prototype masa depan dengan konsep hemat energi yang mengacu pada optimalisasi segi aerodinamikanya, dimana geometri kendaraan ini sudah dirancang sangat streamline. Dalam pengoperasiannya pada bilangan reynolds yang rendah beresiko terhadap separasi aliran di buritan. Deskripsi terbentuknya separasi di buritan dapat diperkuat dengan efek yang ditimbulkan oleh ground clearance dan efek dari side body. Semakin kecil jarak ground clearance maka akan semakin besar potensi terbentuknya blockage effect pada daerah interaksi antara bagian bawah leading edge dengan jalan. Aliran cenderung terdefleksi dengan sangat cepat menuju upperside yang seakan-akan menerima sudut serang positif sehingga menggeser posisi titik minimum pressure lebih kedepan. Pada akhirnya, separasi di rear end pun lebih cepat terjadi.. Penelitian ini dilakukan dengan menggunakan metode numerik (CFD) dengan software Fluent 14.0, karena metode numerik dapat menampilkan hasil observasi dan visualisasi yang mendetail. Pemilihan kondisi simulasi digunakan model turbulensi k-ε realizable. Rasio ground clearance terhadap panjang model (c/l) 0.038, ReL = 1.9775 x 106, boundary condition untuk outlet adalah pressure outlet dan untuk inlet adalah velocity inlet sebesar 11,11 m/s. Dari penelitian ini diharapkan dapat dipelajari karakteristik aliran dua dimensi dan tiga dimensi disekitar model sapuangin 8 urban concept dengan pengaruh rasio ground clearance terhadap panjang model(c/l) sebesar 0,038. Hasil post processing kuantitatif yang didapatkan berupa distribusi koefisien tekanan, serta koefisien drag dan koefisisen lift. Dari hasil post processing menunjukan bahwa bodi sapuangin 8 urban concept terbukti sangat aerodinamis dengan memiliki nilai koefisien drag (CD) sebesar 0,17 dan koefisien lift (CL) sebesar −0,0582. ===================================================================================================== The car of sapuangin is the future prototype car with ecofriendly concept one of optimize is aerodynamics, where the geometry of this vehicle has been designed very streamlined. The car is operating with low Reynolds number that very risk for flow separation at the stern. Description of the formation of separation at the stern could be strengthened by the effects of ground clearance and side effects of the body. The smaller ratio of ground clearance will be increase blockage effect on the interaction leading edge zone with ground. There is a tendency that flow deflected to the upper side as though it accept a positive angle of attack, so this condition can move pressure minimum point forward. Because of that separation in rear end occur faster. This numerical research was carried out by numerical methods (CFD) through software Fluent 14.0., because numerical methods can explained result of observation and detailed visualization of the flow characteristics. Computational turbulent model was set k-ε realizable. The test configuration is enforced with C/L = 0,038, ReL = 1.9775 x 106, boundary condition for outlet is the pressure outlet and for inlet is the velocity inlet at 11,11 m/s. Results from this research can learning the flow characteristics of two-dimensional and three-dimensional around sapuangin 8 urban concept model about ground clearance ratio for length of model (c/l=0,038). From the results of quantitative post processing obtained distribution of pressure coefficient, drag coefficient and lift coefficient. From the results of post processing showed that sapuangin 8 urban concept body has proven to be more aerodynamic with a drag coefficient value of 0,17 and −0,0582 for lift coefficient (CL)
