Abstract

Suara yang ditimbulkan oleh getaran mesin kendaraan akan sangat mengganggu kenyamanan pengendara maupun penumpang. Untuk mengurangi kebisingan tersebut, maka diaplikasikanlah sound aborption material pada interior kendaraan, semisal pada doorpanel. Bahan komposit Polyurethane berbahan dasar penguat partikel Oil Palm Shell (OPS) merupakan sebuah alternatif material peredam suara yang ramah lingkungan. Pada penelitian kali ini bertujuan untuk menganalisa pengaruh fraksi massa partikel Oil Palm Shell terhadap morfologi, kekuatan lentur dan koefisien absorbsi suara pada aplikasi doorpanel. Dari hasil SEM didapat bahwa penambahan filler dapat mengecilkan pori dari foam PU. Komposit PU/OPS ini termasuk jenis porous absorber. Sedangkan hasil dari uji koefisien absorbsi suara dan kekuatan lentur tertinggi didapatkan pada fraksi massa 3% partikel OPS yaitu sebesar 0,432232 pada 4000 Hz dan 27,5274 MPa. ====================================================================================== The noise that is generated by the vehicle engine would irritate the comfort in the car cabin. In reducing the noise, sound absorption material was used in the car cabin, specifically on the doorpanel. The Polyurethane/ Oil Palm Shell (OPS) particle-based composite can be chosen as the alternative sound absorption material since it utilizes the agricultural waste, which makes it environmentally friendly. The aim of this research was to analyze the effect of the OPS particle mass fraction on the morphology, flexural strength and sound absorption coefficient as the doorpanel application. The SEM result showed that the addition of OPS particle would reduce the pore size of the PU foam. The acoustic test showed that the PU/OPS particle composite was a porous absorber type. Meanwhile, the highest value of flexural modulus and sound absorption coefficient was obtained on the 3% OPS particle weight fraction with 0,432232 on 4000 Hz and 27,5274 MPa respectively. All of these result was within the range of the doorpanel properties standard.
