Abstract

Saat proses mobil berjalan pada jalanan yang tidak rata, bodi dan roda mobil akan terkena energi impact yang berasal dari jalan yang tidak rata. Energi impact yang terjadi akan minimbulkan getaran yang tentunya akan menyebabkan ketidaknyamanan bagi pengendara mobil apabila tidak ada suatu sistem yang dapat meredamnya. Pada penelitian kali ini dirancang sistem suspensi adaptive shock absorber dengan menggunakan variabel orifice, dimana pada penelitian sebelumnya orifice pada shock absorber yang digunakan adalah orifice biasa (konvensional). Variabel orifice merupakan orifice yang dimodelkan seperti pegas yang dapat mengembang dan mengempis berdasarkan besar kecilnya pressure drop yang berubah terhadap variabel orifice tersebut Dalam tugas akhir ini dilakukan pemodelan dan analisis pengaruh penggunaan adaptive shock absorber dengan variabel orifice terhadap karakteristik gaya redam dan respon dinamis kendaraan dengan variasi konstanta pegas variabel orifice , frekuensi eksitasi dan kecepatan kendaraan. Tahap awal penelitian ini dilakukan pemodelan dan simulasi karakteristik gaya redam yang dihasilkan sistem shock absorber dengan konvensional orifice dan sistem adaptive shock absorber dengan variabel orifice dengan input sinusoidal dan bump modified dengan frekuensi ekstitasi 0,8 Hz, 1 Hz, 1,5 Hz, dan 2 Hz dengan variasi parameter konstanta pegas variabel orifice untuk sistem adaptive shock absorber dengan range sebesar 250-100 N/m, dan diameter awal orifice 3 mm untuk kedua jenis shock absorber. Penelitian selanjutnya dilakukan penambahan sistem konvensional dan adaptive shock absorber pada sistem seperempat kendaraan dengan input variasi range kecepatan kendaraan 10-120 km/jam. Parameter sistem adaptive shock absorber dengan variabel orifice yang dipilih adalah konstanta pegas orifice 100 N/m dan frekuensi eksitasi 2 Hz. Dihasilkan karakteristik gaya redam yang berbeda antara konvensional dan variabel orifice. Variabel orifice menghasilkan fluktuasi penurunan nilai gaya redam maksimum ekspansi awal dan akhir terbesar dibandingkan jenis konstanta pegas orifice sebelumnya, sedangkan konvensional orifice memiliki nilai gaya redam maksimum yang tetap. Penurunan gaya redam terhadap waktu pada variabel orifice dapat memberikan kemampuan untuk meredam getaran yang lebih baik pada seperempat kendaraan dibandingkan konvensional orifice pada saat kecepatan atau frekuensi tinggi. Penelitian selanjutnya dilakukan penambahan sistem adaptive shock absorber pada sistem seperempat kendaraan dengan variasi kecepatan kendaraan. Dari variasi tersebut, pada kecepatan tertinggi 120 km/jam tersebut diperoleh bahwa perbandingan perpindahan, kecepatan, percepatan bodi kendaraan pada variabel orifice lebih kecil dibandingkan konvensional orifice. ================================================================================================================== When the car is running on a bumpy road, the body and the wheels of the car will be exposed to impact energy derived from uneven road. Impact energy that occurs will cause a vibrations which would cause inconvenience for driver and passenger when there is not a system that can muffle it. In this research, it is designed suspension system with adaptive shock absorber using a variable orifice, which in previous research the orifice in the shock absorber used is ordinary orifice or conventional. The variable orifice is an orifice that is modeled like a spring that can expand and contract based on the amount of pressure drop which varies with the variable orifice The purpose of final project is modeling and analysis of the effect of the adaptive shock absorber with variable orifice on the characteristics and style of the vehicle dynamic response with variation variable spring constant orifice , excitation frequency and speed of the vehicle. The initial stage of this research is to modeling and simulation of the resulting of characteristics damping force of shock absorber systems with conventional orifice and adaptive shock absorber system with a variable orifice with sinusoidal input and bump excitation modified with a frequency of 0.8 Hz, 1 Hz, 1.5 Hz, and 2 Hz with a variation of constant spring parameter variable orifice for adaptive shock absorber system with a range of 250-100 N/m, and initial diameter of orifice is 3 mm for both types of shock absorber. Subsequent studies, the addition of the conventional system and adaptive shock absorber on a quarter system vehicle with vehicle speed input variation range 10-120 km/h. Next, for the final stage of the study conducted a comparison of displacement, velocity, and acceleration of the vehicle body between the conventional system and adaptive shock absorber, and the relationship between the time resistance of passenger against vibration acceleration received. The Parameter of adaptive shock absorber system with variable orifice is selected orifice spring constant (Kspring) of 100 N/m and a frequency excitation of 2 Hz. Resulting damping force characteristics that differ between conventional and variable orifice. The variable orifice produces fluctuations impairment value of maximum damping force in expansion and compression at the beginning and the end of the spring constant compared to other types of orifice earlier, while conventional orifice only has a fixed value of maximum damping force. Decreasing of damping force against time on a variable orifice can provide the ability to reduce vibration better than conventional orifice in high speed or high frequency of vehicles. The last stage of this research is adding adaptive shock absorber system on a quarter car system with variation of vehicle speed. From these variations, at top speed of 120 km/h was obtained that the ratio of the variable displacement vehicle body orifice is smaller than conventional orifice. Then the speed of the vehicle body at a variable orifice is smaller than conventional orifice and the acceleration of the vehicle body at a variable orifice also smaller too than conventional orifice.
