Abstract
Kestabilan dinamik pada sistem daya adalah sebuah permasalahan mendasar dalam pengoperasian sistem daya. Pengoperasian sistem daya yang aman menjadi perhatian utama dan beberapa penelitian terkait penggunaan Power System Stabilizer (PSS) untuk meningkatkan kestabilan dinamik telah banyak dilakukan. Fungsi dasar dari PSS adalah menambah redaman pada generator agar sistem menjadi lebih stabil. Parameter PSS harus diatur menggunakan teknik optimisasi data maupun Trial-Error Method (TEM). Metode optimisasi data yang digunakan pada penelitian ini adalah Modified Differential Evolution (MDE). Metode ini terbukti lebih efektif dibandingkan dengan TEM yang membutuhkan waktu yang lebih lama. Pada penelitian ini dilakukan perbandingan performansi Power System Stabilizer Modified Differential Evolution (MDE PSS) dengan Power System Stabilizer Particle Swarm Optimization (PSO PSS) pada sistem multi mesin Jawa Bali 500 kV.

Power system dynamic stability is one of the essential problems for power system operation. The secure operation of power systems has become a major concern, and the applications Power System Stabilizer (PSS) for dynamic stability enhancement has been studied. The basic function of a PSS is to add damping to the generator rotor oscillations by controlling its excitation using auxiliary stability signals. PSS parameters need to be adjusted whether using a data optimization or Trial-Error Method (TEM). Data optimization method that use in this research is Modified Differential Evolution (MDE). Due to the distinctive solution of techniques of the proposed method, the time consuming TEM is no longer necessary. Performance of Power System Stabilizer Modified Differential Evolution (PSS MDE) compared with Power System Stabilizer Particle Swarm Optimization (PSS PSO) in Java Bali 500 kV multi-machine systems.
