Abstract

Validation is an action which proves that a process/method can give some consistent results according to the spesifications who have been set and well-documented. Boundary Validation aims to create something officially accepted or approved especially after checked. There are various kinds of method in validating boundaries. One of them is using Cartometry method.
Cartometry method is about to delineation the boundaries area with positioning coordinate point and identification scope on map or corrected image. Village’s Boundary Validation using Cartometry Method was displayed with ArcMap as the tools to process Validation. There are 2.843 cartometry point spread in Lumajang Sub-district. The identity of cartometry point according to the specified format.
From the research activities found 101 different segments in digital map taken from RBI map with the segments obtained from validation along the border. There are two types of the segment elements, the nature segment of the river, the lake, and the trees along 50.060,831 meters and the artificial segments of the road, the the irrigation, the rice fields, the houses, and the imaginary border along 35.765,774 meters. The status of the village in Lumajang Sub-district after performed the validation divided into three types, namely the valid border along 87.977,259 meters, the dispute border along 66,418 meters, and the unknown border along 3.405,066 meters. Cartometry point was an effective way to represent the village’s administrative borders. Validation results are presented in administrative village’s boundary maps in Lumajang Sub-district.
