Abstract

Penelitian yang berkaitan dengan linear engine terus berkembang, mulai dari desain mesin, prediksi performa dan berbagai analisis. Sebuah analisis siklus kerja mesin linear dengan menggunakan sistem pegas adalah penelitian yang sangat inovatif. Pada penelitian ini dilakukan pembangunan linear engine silinder tunggal dengan sistem pegas. Pembangunan linear engine menggunakan sistem pegas sudah dilakukan dengan memodifikasi dari mesin konvensional dengan metode reverse engineering. Siklus kerja mesin dari titik mati bawah(TMB) ke titik mati atas (TMA) telah dimodifikasi untuk mengubah casing sistem pembilasan. Hasil pembangunan yang meliputi pembuatan sistem pegas, sistem pengapian dan linear engine harus direalisasikan. Linear engine ini juga dikalibrasi dan hasilnya sesuai dengan desain. Mesin tidak dapat bekerja stabil, pembakaran hanya terjadi pada saat penyalaan . Dari pemeriksaan semua sistem dapat bekerja, tetapi sistem pembilasan mengalami penurunan dibandingkan dengan mesin konvensional. Diduga tingkat kevakuman kurang dalam proses pembilasan. Sistem penyalaan yang diadopsi dari mesin diesel tidak cocok untuk pembangunan linear engine dengan memodifikasi motor bensin bensin dua langkah.

Researches related to linear engine continue to be studies, ranging from engine design, performance prediction and analysis of various other kinds. An analisys the working cycle of the linear engine with a spring system is very important.This study is development a two stroke, single cylinder linear engine with a spring system. The development was done by modifying from a conventional engine with reverse engineering methods. The working cycle of the engine from the bottom dead center (BDC) to top dead center (TDC) has been modified to change the casing of scavenging system. The results of the development include the manufacture of the spring system, ignition system and a linear engine has to be realized. The engine is also calibrated and the results are in accordance with the design. The engine can not work stable, once the burning has be done only at the time of start. From troubleshooting all systems can work, but the scavenging system has decreased compared to a conventional engine. Allegedly is less vacuum level in the scavenging process. The system adopted from the start of the diesel engine is not suitable for two stroke gasoline of linear engine.
