Abstract

Biodiesel merupakan bahan bakar yang berasal dari minyak nabati sehingga dapat dimanfaatkan sebagai sumber bahan bakar yang terbarukan. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui pengaruh sistem injeksi bertingkat terhadap karakteristik semprotan dan unjuk kerja menggunakan bahan bakar biodiesel minyak jelantah. Penelitian ini dilakukan secara eksperimental yang menggunakan bahan bakar biodiesel minyak jelantah dengan prosentase volumetric 100% (B100) dengan mengaplikasikan injektor solenoid pada mesin diesel empat langkah Diamond tipe Di 800. Pengujian ini dilakukan dengan injeksi bertingkat padavariasi 100%-0%, 70% - 30%, 50% -50%, dan 30% -70% diatur oleh ECU programmable. Pengujian dilakukan di Laboratorium Teknik Pembakaran dan Bahan Bakar yang berada di Teknik Mesin FTI ITS Surabaya. Penelitian diawali dengan proses pembuatan biodiesel minyak jelantah dan pengujian propertis karakteristik biodiesel sebelum dilakukannya pengujian pada mesin diesel. Kemudian, dilakukan pengujian unjuk kerja dan emisi gas buang pada putaran konstan (2000 rpm), pengambilan data pada pembebanan 500 Watt sampai 4.000 Watt dengan interval 500 Watt. Data yang didapatkan dengan menggunakan sistem injeksi bertingkat pada variasi 30%-70% terhadap injeksi single fuel menghasilkan penurunan SFC sebesar 6,36% dan emisi gas buang NOx sebesar 9%. Meskipun diikuti penurunan daya efektif, torsi, BMEP sebesar10,91%, sedangkan suhu operasional mesin meliputi : temperatur gas buang,mesin, pendingin juga mengalami penurunan sebesar 18,56%,1,25% dan 1,35%. ================================================================================== Biodiesel is a fuel derived from vegetable oil that can be used as a renewable fuel source. The objective of this research is aimed to determine the effect of stratified injection system on the sprays characteristics and performance using biodiesel fuel of used cooking oil. This research was carried out experimentally using biodiesel fuel of used cooking oil with volumetric percentage of 100% (B100) by applying a solenoid injectors in four steps diesel engine diamond type Di 800. The test was performed by multiple injection on the variation of 100% - 0%, 70% - 30%, 50% -50%, and 30% -70% regulated by a programmable ECU. Tests conducted at the Laboratory of Combustion Engineering and Fuels in Mechanical Engineering FTI ITS Surabaya. The study began with the making of used cooking oil biodiesel and testing of the characteristics properties of biodiesel before testing on the diesel engines. The research continued by testing the performance and emissions of exhaust at a constant speed (2000 rpm), collecting data on the loading of 500 Watt to 4,000 Watt with 500 Watt intervals. It is known that the multiple injection system on the variation of 30% -70% of a single fuel injection produced a decrease in SFC at 6,36% and NOx emissions of exhaust at 9%. Despite followed by the decreased of effective power, torque, BMEP of 10.91%, while the operating temperature of the engine include: exhaust gas temperature, engine coolant is also decreased by 18,56%, 1,25% and 1,35%.
