Abstract
Kinerja rudder pada sebuah kapal mempengaruhi kemampuan kapal untuk melakukan manuver. Rudder yang digunakan sebagai objek dalam penelitian ini merupakan rudder yang terpasang pada sebuah kapal cepat dengan LOA (Length Over All) kapal 59.8 m dan berkecepatan dinas 28 knot. Dalam laporan ini akan dibahas tentang gaya yang bekerja pada rudder dan distribusi kecepatan aliran fluida akibat 3 variasi posisi rudder (X/L=80%, X/L=100%, X/L=120%). Analisis yang dilakukan dalam penelitian ini berdasarkan metode CFD (Computatiional Fluid Dynamics). Analisis efektivitas manuver dilakukan dengan mempertimbangkan besarnya nilai drag force dan lift force yang dihasilkan oleh rudder, serta penurunan fluid velocity u pada area rudder. Pada variasi X/L=120% sudut rudder 35°, rudder menghasilkan nilai total drag force rudder dan total lift force rudder terbesar dengan nilai masing-masing 760887 N dan 1230097 N. Serta penurunan fluid velocity u paling signifikan juga pada variasi X/L=120% dengan nilai 10.08 m/s pada portside rudder dan 9.30 m/s pada starboard rudder.
====================================================================================================== The performance of the rudder on a ship affects the ability of the vessel to perform the maneuver. The rudder is used as object in this research is the rudder that is mounted on a fast boat with LOA (Length Over All) 37.2 m and service speed of 28 knots. In this report will be discussed about the forces acting on the rudder and the distribution velocity of the fluid flow due to the position of the rudder 3 variations (X/L = 80%, X/L = 100%, X/L = 120%). The analysis undertaken in this study based on CFD method (Computatiional Fluid Dynamics). Analysis of the effectiveness of the maneuvers performed by considering the magnitude of the drag force and value of the lift force generated by a rudder, as well as a decrease in the fluid velocity u on the area of the rudder. On the variation of X/L = 120% rudder angle 35 °, the rudder produces a value of total drag force the rudder and the elevator rudder force the largest total value of each 760887 N and 1230097 N. And decrease fluid velocity u most significant also in variation X/L = 120% with a value of 10 m/s the portside on the rudder and the 9.30 m/s on starboard rudder.
