Abstract

===================================================================================================== Concrete geopolymer is a concrete with no portland cement used as the binding material. Besides, this material could also limit the use of cement. It is because 1 ton of CO2 gas would be produced during 1 ton of Portland cement making process[14]s. Rice husk ash could be used as the substitute material by using activator alkali.
Rice husk ash is kind of waste of rice product that has particular feature contains chemical substance with pozzolanic characteristic that contains silica and if it is mixed with cement and water could increase the pressure while silica is the dominant substance of husk rice [28]. Husk rice ash could fill the empty space among particle in escaped sieve standart number of 200 and also increase adhesiveness among particle. Meanwhile fly ash is very small particle from combustion of coals[8]. These days, fly ash is very potential to become substitute material for cement which could also increase power press of geopolymer Sodium silicate (Na2SiO3) was used as activator to fasten polymerization process while sodium hydroxide was used as alkali to aid binding process among particle. For the final task applied, husk rice ash and fly ash were used to analyze the effect of adding rice husk ash as pozzolan on geopolymer concrete and fly ash using activator alkali of sodium silicate (Na2SiO3) and sodium hydroxide (NaOH) as comparison in setting time, porosity, UPV, permeability, and power of press during bonding process until paste was made.
In this study has been made binders Ø2,5x5cm for testing porosity and compressive strength and cube 15x15x5cm for testing upv , and permeability with the composition of 100 % rice husk ash, 100 % fly ash, mixing of 50 % rice husk ash and 50 % fly ash with the binder NaOH dan Na2SiO3. Testing objects test done at the age of 3 days , 28 days , and 56 days. The experimental results of this study indicate that the rice husk ash contains SiO2 96,40% indicated of pozzolanic. Composition 100% rice husk ash have a workability and making long time setting time, because structure of particel on rice husk ash look likes sponge what can need much of water, absorb water and not for reaction. For compressive strength increased to age but still below the low on the composition of a 100% fly ash. For the composition mixing of 50% fly ash and 50% rice husk ash but still below the low on the composition of a 100% fly ash. Rice husk ash effective enough to geopolymer binder and to minimize the use of fly ash
