Abstract

Sistem propulsi elektrik memiliki keunggulan pada aplikasinya dengan menunjukkan peningkatan efisiensi konsumsi bahan bakar, penurunan emisi gas buang, juga biaya yang tidak berbeda secara signifikan dengan teknologi bahan bakar minyak. Baterai sebagai media penyimpanan energi listrik adalah komponen vital dalam sistem propulsi elektrik dan untuk mengetahui kemampuan baterai diperlukan pengujian yang disebut discharge test. Pada skripsi ini, eksperimen discharge test dilakukan dengan mengukur performa pada baterai dan motor DC untuk mengetahui kemampuan baterai dalam aplikasikan pada sistem propulsi elektrik yang sesuai dengan standar dari Biro Klasifikasi Indonesia (BKI). Eksperimen dilakukan menggunakan baterai VRLA 12V yang dihubungkan dengan motor DC Feedback tipe No. 63-110 pada tegangan 210V dengan variasi pembebanan.Hasilnya adalah tegangan tertinggi baterai sebesar 11.9 V, arustertinggi sebesar 7.75 A, cut-off voltage pada 9.48V-10.48V,voltage drop antara 0.75V-1.25V, efisiensi antara 90%-94%,kecepatan tertinggi motor 2730 RPM, daya masukkan tertinggisebesar 273 Watt, dan baterai memenuhi peraturan BKI dengankemampuan maksimal diperkirakan sebesar 869.4 Watt. ================================================================================================================== Electric propulsion system has several advantages in its application in transportation with showing increase efficiency of fuel consumption, decrease of gas emition, and small cost differences with internal combustion engine technology. Battery as electric energy storage serves as vital components in electric propulsion system and discharge test able to understand the capability of battery for supply energy for certain load. In this final project, discharge test will be done to measure parameters which are the voltage and current of the battery, also the performance of connected DC motor with the purpose of figuring wether the battery is applicable to electric propulsion system based on rules set by Biro Klasifikasi Indonesia (BKI). The experiment conducted using 12V VRLA battery which is connected to DC motor at voltage of 210V with several load variations. The results are as follows: highest battery voltage at 11.9V, highest current at 7.75, cut-off voltage between 9.48V-10.48V, voltage drop between 0.75V - 1.25V, efficiency between 90%-94%t, highest DC motor speed at 2730 RPM, highest power input at 273 watts, and battery comply with BKI rules with predicted maximum power of 869.4 watts.
