Abstract

Analisis pori dan struktur mikro pada batu apung Lombok telah dilakukan. Metode BET digunakan dalam menentukan diameter pori, luas permukaan spesifik, dan volume pori batu apung. Sementara karakterisasi SEM dilakukan untuk mengetahui morfologi struktur mikro batu apung. Batu apung yang berasal dari tiga lokasi berbeda di pulau Lombok digerus untuk diperoleh ukuran partikel yang lebih kecil. Melalui karakterisasi, diketahui batu apung Lombok memiliki fasa quartz, corundum, dan hematite, serta memiliki ukuran diameter pori 4,4 nm untuk kedalaman 0,3 m dan 1,5 nm untuk kedalaman 3,0 m. Luas permukaan spesifik batu apung adalah 22,8 х 104 cm2/g untuk kedalaman 0,3 m dan 58,7 х 104cm2/g untuk kedalaman 3,0 m. Sedangkan volume pori batu apung Lombok pada kedalaman 0,3 m dan 3,0 m secara berturut-turut adalah sebesar 0,0135 ml/g dan 0,0227 ml/g. Berdasarkan hasil analisis struktur mikro, batu apung dalam bentuk serbuk tidak mengubah morfologi batuan itu sendiri. ======================================================================================== Analysis on the pore and the microstructure of Lombok pumice has been successfully performed. BET method was used to determine the pore size, specific surface area and pore volume of pumice. Meanwhile, SEM was used to determine the morphology of pumice microstructure. Pumice selected from three different locations from Lombok Island was crushed to obtain smaller particle sizes. Based on the results of characterization, it was known that pumice has quartz, corundum, and hematite phases, and the average pore size was 4.4 nm and 1.5 nm respectively for pumice collected from the quarry’s depth of 0.3 m and 3.0 m. The specific surface area of Lombok pumice from the corresponding area are 22.8 х 104 cm2/g and 58.7 х 104cm2/g; and the pore volume are 0.0135 ml/g and 0.0227 ml/g. Based on the microstructure, it was concluded that pulverized pumice did not affect its microstructure.
