Abstract
CV X sebagai salah satu perusahaan yang memproduksi tiang penerangan jalan umum (PJU) di Jawa Timur dalam dua tahun terakhir mendapatkan beberapa permintaan yang tidak terlayani akibat kondisi produksi dan waktu yang tidak memungkinkan. Salah satu penyebabnya adalah pemborosan dalam aktivitas produksi perusahaan. Untuk mengidentifikasi pemborosan tersebut dan menguranginya maka digunakanlah pendekatan Lean Manufacturing. Dengan bantuan Value Stream Mapping dan Process Activity Mapping, pemborosan dikelompokkan berdasarkan nilai aktivitas sesuai aliran produksi. Aktivitas yang termasuk non value added (NVA) akan diprioritaskan untuk dikurangi. Kuisioner waste dengan perhitungan metode Borda juga digunakan untuk lebih mengetahui jenis waste kritis menurut perusahaan. Setelah waste teridentifikasi, dicari akar penyebabnya dengan menggunakan root cause analysis. Pemilihan rekomendasi perbaikan kemudian dilakukan dengan bantuan failure mode and effect analysis berdasarkan tingkat keparahan, frekuensi, dan deteksinya. Hasil pengolahan data menunjukkan CV X memiliki waste kritis pada waiting, inventory, transportation, dan defect. Waiting terjadi karena adanya waktu menunggu proses hot dip, pengambilan alat, dan penataan produk. Inventory terjadi seperti ketika menumpuknya produk work in progress (WIP) maupun produk jadi sebelum diproses lanjut atau dikirim. Transportation terjadi karena pengangkutan lebih yang terjadi di area produksi. Defect bisa terjadi karena adanya tiang PJU yang bengkok, salah potong, atau galvanis buruk. Rekomendasi perbaikan yang diberikan adalah dengan mencoba menggunakan perusahaan alternatif hot dip lain, membeli tempat peralatan khusus, merapikan area WIP, mengatur ulang layout produksi, dan memberikan pelatihan lebih pada pekerja. Rekomendasi tersebut diperkirakan akan mengurangi pemborosan waktu sebesar 5.33% berdasarkan 50 unit tiang produksi sehingga mampu meminimalisir keterlambatan pengiriman pada konsumen dan meningkatkan produksi untuk melayani permintaan dengan baik.
=================================================================================================== CV X is a road lighting pole manufacturer located in East Java. In the last few years has been unable to fulfill their increasing order due to several non added value activities in their operations. Therefore, Lean Manufacturing approach is utilized to be able to identify waste properly and eliminate or reduce them. Waste is identified using Value Stream Mapping and Process Activity Mapping. Borda method is used to determine the critical waste ranks according to the company perception by using questionnaire. Root causes of critical waste are determined through root cause analysis. CV X has several critical waste, they are: waiting, over inventory, transportation, and defect. Waiting occurs because of waiting time for hot dip processes, search tools, and product arrangement. Over inventory occurs such as when stacking products work in progress (WIP) and finished product before it is processed further or deliver to customer. Transportation occurs because too many transportation occurring in the production area. Defect could occur due to road lighting poles are bent, incorrect fragments, or bad galvanizing. Recommendations for improvement are formulated after failure mode and effect analysis prioritize highest rank of root causes. The recommendations are as follow: to use new hot dip company, to purchase special equipment kit, to tidy WIP area, rearrange layout of production, and provide more training to workers. These recommendations are expected to reduce lead time by 5.33% based 50 unit production of poles as well as to minimize delays in delivery to the consumer and increase production to fulfill the future needs of high demand.
