Abstract
Kekurangan turbin Savonius yang memiliki nilai Cp rendah dan kekurangan turbin Darrieus pada nilai torsi awal yang buruk dapat diminimalisir dengan menggabungkan kedua jenis turbin tersebut. Tujuan tersebut dapat melalui analisis konfigurasi dan jumlah sudu pada turbin Savonius-Darrieus menggunakan simulasi berbasis Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD). Simulasi dilakukan pada sembilan variasi dengan mengubah jumlah sudu dan konfigurasi pada turbin Savonius dan turbin Darrieus. Variasi dilakukan antara 2 hingga 4 sudu pada kecepatan angin 4 hingga 10 m/s dengan kenaikan setiap 2 m/s. Hasil simulasi menunjukan turbin Savonius-Darrieus tidak lebih baik daripada turbin Savonius namun lebih baik daripada turbin Darrieus pada bilangan Reynolds yang disimulasikan. Turbin Savonius 3 Darrieus 3 menghasilkan performansi terbaik dengan nilai Cp 0.1825 pada TSR 0.4257 serta nilai self-start 1,8 m/s. Turbin Savonius 4 Darrieus 4 memiliki nilai resultan gaya dan torsi tertinggi karena karakteristik aliran dimana turbin mendapatkan distribusi tekanan dan kecepatan aliran total terbesar sehingga dapat mengekstraksi energi lebih banyak daripada model turbin yang lain.

Lack of Cp values Savonius turbine and poor starting torque
values can be minimalized by combining both of those turbines. For
that purpose, configuration and number of Savonius-Darrieus turbine
airfoil analyzed by using Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD)
simulation. The simulation performed on nine variation of airfoil
number and configuration of Savonius turbine and Darrieus turbine.
Airfoils variation are using 2 to 4 airfoils in wind speed range 4 m/s
to 10 m/s with 2 m/s increment. Result of the simulation shown that
Savonius-Darrieus turbine cannot performed as good as Savonius
tubine but better than Darrieus turbine in simulation wind speed
range. Best Cp value is found in Savonius 3 Darrieus 3 turbine with
Cp value 0.1825 on TSR value 0.4257 with self-start value in 1,8 m/s.
Savonius 4 Darrieus 4 turbine generate highest value in force and
torque resultant because flow characteristic that through turbine
made the highest pressure distribution and wind velocity, so that the
turbine can produce more energy than any other configuration had
been made
