Abstract
PT Energi Agro Nusantara (Enero) mengalamai kelebihan produksi biogas akibat terjadinya fermentasi limbah cair yang terbentuk di lagoon. Biogas yang terbentuk di lagoon cukup banyak dan dapat dimanfaatkan kembali, namun kadar H2S yang tinggi menyebabkan perlunya pemurnian terhadap H2S. Pada penelitian ini dirancang unit pengurang kadar H2S pada produksi biogas di PT Enero, dimana metode yang digunakan adalah dengan memanfaatkan kelarutan H2S yang tinggi dalam air. Unit yang menggunakan pelarut air dalam menghilangkan kandungan gas tertentu disebut sebagai wet scrubber. Analisis dilakukan terhadap dua jenis wet scrubber yang akan dirancang yaitu kolom tray dan packed. Melalui penelitian ini diketahui bahwa kolom packed memiliki kinerja terbaik, yaitu air yang dibutuhkan paling sedikit dan kadar H2S keluaran kolom juga memenuhi target sebesar 4 ppm. Spesifikasi kolom packed yang dirancang adalah: jenis packing Intalox Structured Packing, diameter 1,5 m, tinggi 10 m, dan laju air minimum 179,99 m3/jam. Perubahan laju alir biogas akibat fluktuasi produksi biogas di lapangan mempengaruhi kinerja wet scrubber. Perubahan laju alir yang semakin besar mengakibatkan kadar H2S pada gas keluaran wet scrubber meningkat. Peningkatan kadar H2S bisa diatasi dengan meningkatkan laju air minimum yang masuk.

PT Energi Agro Nusantara has encountered an excess of biogas production due to fermentation of waste water in the lagoon. Biogas that formed in the lagoon is quite a lot and can be reused, but high levels of H2S causing the need for purification of H2S. In this study is designed H2S reductor unit in biogas production at PT Enero, where the method is to utilize the high solubility of H2S in water. Units that use water as solvents in removing certain gas content called wet scrubber. Analysis is conducted on the two types of wet scrubber, tray and packed columns. Through this research, packed column has the best performance, the need of water is the least and H2S content at column output also meet its target of 4 ppm. Specifications of designed packed column is: type of packing Intalox Structured Packing, diameter 1,5 m, height 10 m, and the minimum water rate is 179,99 m3/h. Changes in biogas flow rate due to biogas production fluctuation in the field affect the wet scrubber performance. The greater biogas flow rate resulting H2S content in gas output of wet scrubber increased. Increased contents of H2S can be overcome by increasing the minimum rate of water intake.
