Abstract

In this research, the activities of reductant Na2S2O3 and
NH2OH.HCl were compared include optimum pH, time of
complex formation and optimum concentration. Determination
was obtained at 512 nm. Optimization of pH buffer in
acidic conditions were obtained pH 4,5 and 5,5 for reductant
Na2S2O3 and NH2OH.HCl, respectively. Both reductants can
reduce optimally at 15 minutes. Na2S2O3 was found relatively
stable over 15 minutes, while NH2OH.HCl damaged. In addition,
the determination of optimum concentration of reductant were
produced 10 ppm Na2S2O3 and 11 ppm NH2OH.HCl to reduce 5
ppm solution of Fe3+.
