Abstract
Surabaya merupakan salah satu kota metropolitan
terbesar di Indonesia dengan jumlah penduduk cukup tinggi.
Jumlah penduduk yang tinggi sebanding dengan banyaknya
limbah domestik yang dihasilkan dan berkurangnya lahan
pemukiman. Permasalahan lingkungan seperti masalah sanitasi
dan pencemaran badan air juga masih terjadi. Masih ada beberapa
penduduk Kota Surabaya yang lebih memilih menyalurkan air
limbahnya menuju saluran drainase/sungai yang berada di dekat
rumah mereka. Kondisi yang ada ini bertentangan dengan target
RPJMD Kota Surabaya bidang sanitasi dan juga belum memenuhi
regulasi baku mutu tentang air limbah domestik. Kecamatan
Genteng Kota Surabaya memiliki kepadatan penduduk yang cukup
tinggi sebesar 2.061 jiwa/km2. Kelurahan Kapasari merupakan
daerah terpadat di Kecamatan Genteng. Sebagian besar
penduduknya membuang air limbah domestiknya ke saluran
drainase dan septik tank.

Surabaya is one of the most populated cities and has a
high population growth. Population growth is resulting in a growing
number of domestic waste generated and less land available. In
addition to the general population growth was also accompanied
by environmental problems such as sanitation and pollution. There
are still some people in Surabaya, which do not have access to
adequate sanitation facilities and/or does not manage its waste
water. They prefers to dispose their wastewater to the drainage or
river near their house. This existing condition is contrary to RPJMD
Surabaya targets for sanitation, more over it still not fulfill the quality
standard for domestic wastewater.
This study is done with the aim of designing a installation
of communal wastewater treatment using ABR. In addition its also
planned sewerage system. This study evaluated from technical
and financial aspects. Technical aspect includes the calculation of
wastewater discharge, pipe diameter, planting pipe, pipe
dimensions and drawings communal WWTP planning techniques,
while the financial aspects of covering the costs of construction and
maintenance operating costs. The data collection with
questionnaire to find drink water usage and knowledge and the
willingness of citizens about communal WWTP.
