Abstract
Gas alam yang diolah menjadi CNG (Compressed Natural Gas) akan menghasilkan hasil samping yang berupa condensate. Pada condensate tersebut dilakukan pengujian laboratorium, sehingga didapatkan properties berupa nilai LHV = 44073,048 kJ/kg, nilai HHV = 47255,016 kJ/kg, massa jenis (ρ) = 716,7 kg/m3, dan nilai octane = 90,2. Dari data properties yang tersedia menunjukkan condensate CNG memiliki karakter mirip bahan bakar bensin. Selanjutnya condensate tersebut digunakan sebahagai bahan bakar mesin bensin dan kinerjanya akan dibandingkan dengan bahan bakar Pertalite. Pengujian unjuk kerja mesin dilakukan menggunakan mesin genset 1 silinder 4 langkah sesuai standar SNI. Data yang dihasilkan dari pengujian berupa nilai BMEP, BSFC, Torsi dan Efisiensi Thermal. Dari hasil pengujian didapat data bahan bakar condensate CNG memiliki nilai BMEP = 460,128 kPa, BSFC = 0,000279 kg/watt.jam, Torsi = 7,17 Nm, Efisiensi = 29,27%. Sedangkan bahan bakar Pertalite memiliki nilai BMEP = 482,884 kPa, BSFC = 0,000318 kg/watt.jam, Torsi = 7,52 Nm, Efisiensi = 23,89%. Sehingga mesin genset yang menggunakan bahan bakar condensate CNG lebih efisien dibandingkan dengan mesin genset yang menggunakan bahan bakar Pertalite.

Natural gas that is processed into CNG (Compressed Natural Gas) will produce a waste in the form of condensate. The Condensate is an alternatives fossil fuel. On laboratory experiment, obtained the properties of CNG condensate which is LHV = 44073.048 kJ/kg, t HHV = 47255.016 kJ/kg, density (ρ) = 716.7 kg/m3, and octane number = 90.2. From the data, shows that condensate CNG fuel have characters like gasoline. Then, CNG condensate waste fuel will use on gasoline engine and compared with the Pertalite fuel. Engine performance testing use 1 cylinder 4 stroke engine based on SNI. The resulting data from testing is BMEP, BSFC, Thermal Efficiency and Torque. From the test results obtained data on fuel condensate CNG is BMEP = 460.128 kPa, BSFC = 0.000279 kg/watt.jam, Torque = 7.17 Nm, Efficiency = 29,27%. And the the data of Pertalite fuel is BMEP = 482.884 kPa, BSFC = 0.000318 kg/watt.jam, Torque = 7.52 Nm, Efficiency = 23,89%. So the conclusion is the engine which use condensate CNG fuel, more efficient than engine using Pertalite fuel.
