Abstract

In wireless communication systems, especially in the world or military
tactical communications, one of which must be faced is jamming
interference. The information submitted must be resistant jamming
interference and secure, so that information can be received by intended
recipient.
One of the most system which can solve the problem is Direct Sequence
Spread Spectrum (DSSS) which the information will be multiplied
directly with the pseudo-noise sequence which have a chip rate is much
greater, so that the signal will be sent in much greater bandwidth than the
bit rate. This system can be implemented in the Wireless Open-Access
Research Platform (WARP), which is one of the types of Software Define
Radio (SDR). In WARP system performance can be seen in real condition
on the wireless channel. WARP module capable programmed directly
with MATLAB software, so the baseband, passband modeling system,
transmitter and receiver can be done easily.
Testing was conducted to determine the performance of DSSS system in
WARP are working at frequency 2.4 GHz is displayed in graphical form
Bit Error Rate (BER) of the variation of the jamming signal power by
sending 38400 bits. The best system performance is obtained when the
jamming signal power is less than or equal to the carrier signal power
DSSS system. In Single Tone Jamming (STJ) the system will reach a
value of BER 10−3 when jamming signal power 125% of the signal
power DSSS system, while the Multi Tone Jamming (MTJ) system will
achieve BER 10−3 when jamming signal power 100% of the DSSS
system power.
