Abstract

mengetahui kinerja virtualisasi server.
OpenStack.

=====================================================================================

The last few years, many types of processor core that has more than one,
especially on the server, with a dual core processor. By looking at the
potential core processor that has more than one such, can be utilized to
run applications and services simultaneously using virtualization
techniques on a computer. The concept of high availability cluster
contained on server virtualization can share the physical resources of the
server (host) such as memory, disk space and CPU power to multiple
virtual server (guest) to the maximum expected not degrade the
performance of the server. Accordingly, in this study the performance
evaluation is done by testing and analysis overhead, linearity,
performance of CPU, memory, disk read and write as well as the value of
Quality of Service (QOS) to determine the performance of server
virtualization. The main result of this thesis is the design and
implementation of server virtualization using Proxmox and OpenStack as
well as a description of the results of the analysis of the performance of
each of the virtualization. Virtualization servers using Proxmox Virtual
Environment is better if compared server virtualization OpenStack. This
is because the Proxmox Virtual Environment using the OpenVZ virtual
machine or container-based virtualization which can only run a Linuxbased
operating system so that the operation can share the host to the guest
kernel. It makes OpenVZ virtual machine to run faster dibandingakan
with OpenStack virtual machine that uses KVM (Kernel-based Virtual
Machine) the operation can not be shared between the host and the guest
kernel.
