Abstract

PT. X merupakan salah satu produsen kaca lembaran di Indonesia, dimana produk yang paling banyak diproduksi adalah LNFL 2 mm. Masalah kualitas produksi yang terjadi pada bulan Januari hingga Maret 2015 adalah peningkatan jumlah cacat primer, khususnya bubble yang meningkat hingga 321 persen pada bulan Maret. Hal tersebut menyebabkan indeks kapabilitas karakteristik atribut kaca untuk tipe DN dan E sangat rendah, dimana masing-masing bernilai 0,29 dan 0,33. Untuk meningkat-kan indeks kapabilitas, dilakukan perbaikan dengan metode six sigma dengan hasil perbaikan telah mampu menurunkan jumlah cacat atribut. Sehingga, level sigma atribut kaca tipe DN mengalami kenaikan dari 3,24σ menjadi 3,46σ dan untuk tipe E naik dari 3,31σ menjadi 3,59σ. Kenaikan mengindikasikan bahwa jumlah produk yang berada di luar batas spesifikasi atribut semakin berkurang. Level sigma variabel kaca tipe E juga mengalami kenaikan dari 2,91σ menjadi 3,52σ. Sebaliknya, level sigma variabel kaca tipe DN mengalami penurunan dari 3,63σ menjadi 2,98σ. Oleh karena itu, perlu dilakukan perbaikan berkelanjutan untuk mengidentifikasi penyebab turunnya level sigma variabel kaca tipe DN ================================================================================================================== PT. X is one of flat glass producer in Indonesia, in which the product that mostly produced is LNFL 2 mm. The quality production problem which appears during January through March 2015 is the increasing number of primary defect, especially bubble which had increased until 321 percent on March. As the result, process capability index of DN and E types attribute characteristics are very low, which are 0,29 dan 0,03 respectively. Based on that problems, several improvements were applied to increase process capability index using six sigma method. The conclusion is the improvements had success to diminish the number of non-conformities. Therefore, attribute sigma level of DN and E type have increased from 3,24σ to 3,46σ and from 3,31σ to 3,59σ respectively. The increasing of sigma level indicate that the number of products which don’t meet specifications are decrease. Variable sigma level of E type have increased from 2,91σ to 3,52σ. Otherwise, variable sigma level of DN type have decrease from 3,63σ to 2,98σ. So, continuous improvements to identify potential causes of DN type’s decreasing variable sigma level are should be done.
