Abstract

Perkembangan teknologi telekomunikasi sudah menjadi sarana
yang tak terpisahkan dari pola kehidupan manusia. Ketersediaan layanan
layanan demi memenuhi kebutuhan pelanggan. Salah satu cara operator
untuk meningkatkan cakupan area jaringannya adalah dengan
melakukan pembangunan infrastruktur jaringan radio seluler, termasuk
km2

The development of telecommunications technology has
become an indispensable means of the pattern in human life.
Availability of services sought by a number of operators with a wide
variety of systems and services to meet customer needs. One of the way
that operator can do to increase the coverage area of the network is build
up the cellular radio network infrastructure, including antenna towers for
Base Transceiver Station (BTS) at the points that are considered
strategic. If the placement of the tower is too many and without a proper
planning will cause adverse effects.
`Based on the problem above, it can be solved by doing BTS
planning to find the good placement through some specific parameters
that will be using for the next 5 years. The region that has been chosen
to be the source of study is Jombang. Mapping the location of existing
and new towers will be done using MapInfo software. Through the
implementation of Weighted Product Method, priority ranking can be
determined the potential locations for the new tower built. Weighted
Product Method is one method of settlement on MADM problems that
evaluates several alternatives to a set of criterias, where each attribute is
not dependent on each other.
From the calculation of BTS demand planning for 2020,
Jombang requires 456 base stations and 238 mobile telecommunications
towers combination. They need to build up 34 towers to provide the
traffic in 2020. The addition number of tower will be placed in the new
tower zones with a total area of 26.69 km2 zone
