Abstract

Tidak adanya akses jalur kereta api yang menghubungkan Pulau Jawa-Sumatera membuat sebagian masyarakat lebih memilih sarana transportasi lain seperti bus, mobil, sepeda motor, dan angkutan umum lainnya. Untuk mendukung sarana transportasi kereta api tersebut, maka dibutuhkan sebuah desain kapal Ferry Ro-Ro yang secara khusus dapat mengangkut kereta api. Data yang dibutuhkan berupa ukuran lokomotif dan gerbong, ukuran rel, dan jarak antar pulau. Dari data tersebut dibuat desain awal. Tujuan dari Tugas Akhir ini adalah mencari ukuran kapal yang optimum, serta memiliki biaya yang minimum. Ukuran utama kapal optimal yang didapatkan adalah, Lpp = 100.12 m, Bm = 29.3 m, H = 7.33 m,T = 5.25 m , dengan biaya pembangunan sebesar $ 17,656,797.44. Dari data kapal tersebut kemudian dibuat Lines Plan, General Arrangement, serta Safety Plan. =================================================================================== The unavailable of train line access between Java - Sumatra, makes people choose another transportation such as bus, car, motor cycle, etc. To support the train line transportation, it will need a design of ferry with purpose to carry a train. The required data are dimension of train within Railway and distance of each inhabited island. From this data, we can make the preliminary ship design. Purpose of this final project is to find the optimal size of the ship with the size of superstructure is already determined. Size of the ship must meet some certain restrictions like Archimedes law, trim, stability, freeboard, tonnage, and cheapest valuable. The ship’s optimal main dimensions are, L = 100.12 m, B = 29.3 m, H = 7.33 m, T = 5.25 m with the production cost is $ 17,656,797.44. From the ship’s main dimensions, furthermore, lines plan, general arrangement, and safety plan can be made.
