Abstract
Perkembangan teknologi game komputer sekarang ini semakin
bertambah pesat. Non Player Character (NPC) sangat penting dalam
pengembangan sebuah game perang berbasis Real Time Strategy (RTS). Untuk
itulah sebuah NPC didesain dan diberi teknik Artificial Intelligence (AI) yang
sesuai sehingga dapat melakukan rmanuver secara berkelompok disuatu medan
pertempuran. Dalam penelitian ini, perancangan NPC meliputi analisa game,
identifikasi perilaku NPC, dan merancang Finite State Machine (FSM) untuk
NPC. FSM digunakan untuk menentukan gerak pasukan (Army) yang akan
berperang melawan musuh (Enemy) yang diimplementasikan dalam Algoritma
Boids, dan simulasi game menggunakan Unity 3D. Hasil penelitian menunjukan
bahwa NPC dapat bermanuver secara kelompok dalam beberapa skenari, sehingga
dapat diketahui skenario yang lebih kuat dalam bermanuver.

The development of technology in computer games lately is growing
rapidly. Non Player Character (NPC) is required to developt a war game in the
principle of Real Time Strategy (RTS). Thats why the NPC must be designed and
equiped by an appropriate Artificial Intelligence (AI) technique, and they can be
maneuver in groups in the battlefield. In this research, the design of NPC is
consist of the analysis of the game, identification of the behavior NPC, and map
out the Finite State Machine (FSM) for NPC. FSM is used to determine the troop
movement (Army) who gun against the Enemy that will be implemented in Boids
Algorithm, and the simulation of the game is using Unity 3D. The results showed
that the NPC can maneuver in groups in some scenarios, so the most powerful
scenario in maneuver can be seen.
