Abstract

Telah dipelajari ekstrak kulit luar semangka sebagai inhibitor korosi pada tinplate dalam media 2% NaCl menggunakan metode pengurangan berat dan polarisasi potensiodinamik dengan variasi konsentrasi inhibitor. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan efisiensi inhibisi meningkat seiring dengan meningkatnya konsentrasi inhibitor. Efisiensi inhibisi maksimum mencapai 88,11% pada metode pengurangan berat dan pada metode polarisasi potensiodinamik mencapai 92,98% yang didapat dari konsentrasi ekstrak sebesar 1000 mg Ekstrak/L. Kedua metode memberikan pola inhibisi yang sama. ================================================================================================================== Watermelon Peel Extract has been studied as a corrosion inhibitor in tinplate in 2% NaCl medium using weight loss measurements and potentiodynamic polarization methods at various of inhibitor concentration. The results show that inhibition efficiency increased with the increase of inhibitor concentration and reaching the maximum value of 88,11% by weight loss measurements and 92,98% by potentiodynamic polarization methods at the highest concentration 1000 mg Extract/L. Both of these methods produced the same pattern of inhibition.
